FEAST SEASON 3 – FEAST 6: DAY of ATONEMENT 2025 – including Tabernacle imagery & Gifts

THE THIRD SEASON FEASTS OF YHVH

FEAST 6: THE DAY OF ATONEMENT – the EVALUATION of the BRIDE (A WEDING) and the JUDGEMENT on YHVH’s ENEMIES (A WAR)

The Day of Atonement, known as Yom Kippur in Hebrew, is ALSO KNOWN AS JUDGEMENT DAY and takes place on 10 Tishri on the Hebrew calendar, corresponding to sundown 1 to sundown 2 October 2025.

We find the instruction of Abba Father for the Day of Atonement in:

Leviticus 23:26-32

“YHVH said to Moses: The tenth day of this seventh month (10 Tishri) is Yom-Kippur (the Day of Atonement), you are to have a holy convocation (assembly, gathering, congregation), you are to deny yourselves, and you are to bring an offering made by fire to YHVH. You are not to do any kind of work on that day, because it is Yom-Kippur (the Day of Atonement), to make atonement (amends/ recompense/ penitence/ repentance) for you before YHVH your God. Anyone who does not deny himself on that day is to be cut off from his people; and anyone who does any kind of work on that day, I will destroy among his people. You are not to do any kind of work; it is a permanent regulation through all your generations, no matter where you live. It will be for you a Shabbat of complete rest, and you are to deny yourselves; you are to rest on your Shabbat from evening the ninth day of the month until the following evening. ”

This Fire offering entails:

Taking a decision to re-dedicate our lives to YHVH our God as a pleasing living sacrifice (read Romans 12:1-2), showing our love and commitment to Him by following in the footsteps of our Messiah Yeshua in obedience to the Father. And praying for fellow believers and those still lost or spiritually blinded (read Deuteronomy 6:5-7 and John 14:15).

THE PURPOSE OF THE DAY OF ATONEMENT

Solemn REPENTANCE and REFLECTION in preparation for the DAY OF ATONEMENT/ JUDGEMENT and it is the only required DAY OF FASTING in the Bible (read Leviticus 23:27 & 32 and Jeremiah 36:6).

The HARVEST PICTURE of the DAY OF ATONEMENT, also called JUDGEMENT DAY is the Grape Harvest – as we read in Revelation 14:14-20 and Isaiah 63:1-6 – this will be a difficult and bloody harvest, meaning that people will come to repentance under severe and difficult circumstances.

The purpose of the annual FEAST of the DAY OF ATONEMENT/ JUDGEMENT is therefore to come to REPENTANCE, having regret and remorse about our sins and turning back to Abba Father, following in the footsteps of Yeshua our Messiah in obedience to the Father with the help and support of the Holy Spirit.

The DAY of ATONEMENT (Judgement Day) consists of TWO PHASES:

This is confirmed in many Scriptures like:

• “He (Yeshua) has with Him his winnowing (examining, inspecting, sorting) fork; and He will clear out His threshing (separating) floor, gathering His wheat into His barn but burning up the straw with unquenchable fire!” (Matthew 3:12).

•  “…We thank you, YHVH, God of Heaven’s Armies, the One who is and was, that you have taken your power and have begun to rule. The nations raged. But now Your rage has come, (1) the time for the dead to be judged, the time for rewarding your servants the prophets and your holy people, those who stand in awe of Your Name, both small and great. (2) It is also the time for destroying those who destroy the earth.”  (Revelation 11:17-18).

THE TWO PHASES:

PHASE 1: is PREPARING FOR A WEDDING – that depicts the gathering of HIS WHEAT into His barn (Matthew 3:12):

THE EVALUATION OF THE BRIDE (believers) called: THE JUDGEMENT SEAT OF THE MESSIAH (this is the FIRST RESURECTION AFTER THE FIRST DEATH)

Revelation 20:6 “Blessed and holy is anyone who has a part in the first resurrection; over him the second death has no power. On the contrary, they will be priests of God (the Father) and of the Messiah and they will rule with Him the thousand years.”

PHASE 2: A WAR – JUDGEMENT of YHVH’s enemies – burning up THE STRAW with unquenchable fire! (Matthew 3:12)

We read about this JUDGEMENT as described in the SEVEN BOWLS of God the Father’s wrath – Revelation chapters 16 – 19.

BIBLICAL HISTORY AND MEANING

• This was the great day of national CLEANSING and REPENTANCE from SIN in the Old Testament;
• It was on this day that God judged the sin of the entire nation – it was therefore considered as the Day of Judgement;
• The High Priest would go on this one day of the year behind the veil into the Holy of Holies with the blood of the sacrifice and sprinkle it on the Mercy Seat;
• The word “atonement” means to cover – the sins of the nation were covered with the blood of the sacrifice (Leviticus 16);
• It was a time of GREAT SOUL AFFLICTION – SORROW, REPENTANCE and CONFESSION OF SINS;
• It is the only required DAY OF FASTING in the Word (read Leviticus 23:27 & 32 and Jeremiah 36:6);
• People greeted each other on the Day of Atonement with: “May your name be inscribed in the Book of Life.”
• It was a very serious day.

THE DAY OF ATONEMENT, LIKE ALL THE OTHER FEASTS OF ABBA FATHER WILL BE FULFILLED BY YESHUA THE MESSIAH

Hebrews 9:12 tells us:

• Yeshua the Messiah fulfilled the spiritual aspects of the Day of Atonement when He went into the heavenly Holy of Holies with His own blood, He shed for the sins of the world;
• Believers have been FORGIVEN and made CLEAN once and for all by the blood of Messiah Yeshua. His blood did not just cover our sins; it took them away to be remembered no more;
• We receive this great blessing of FORGIVENESS once and for all when we REPENT of our sins with a broken and contrite spirit and accept Yeshua as the innocent substitutionary sacrifice who died in our place;
• At that moment our future is sealed by the Holy Spirit, and our names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life;
• Even though God has forgiven us of our sins we still need a continuous cleansing (repentance for accidental sins) in our daily lives (read 1 John 1:6-9);
• God does not cause difficult times in our lives but He will use it as tests and trials to purify and discipline us so that we may turn from our sin and seek Him;
• Yeshua desires to PURIFY us by HIS WORD (see John 15:3); and He
• Baptizes us with the Holy Spirit and with fire (Luke 3:16-17).

PERSONAL SIGNIFICANCE FOR US/ APPLICATION

What Yeshua our Messiah experienced in His flesh while on earth, we who are His followers are called to experience in our inner self:

YESHUA our MESSIAH:

• WAS CRUCIFIED for our sins – and WE MUST DIE TO SELF, TAKE UP OUR CROSS and FOLLOW HIM;
• WAS BURIED with our sin – and WE must PUT OFF THE OLD MAN OF SIN;
• WAS RESURECTED from the dead – and WE who were dead in our trespasses and sins have now been RAISED FROM OUR SPIRITUAL graves to WALK IN NEWNESS OF LIFE;
• WAS FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT, enabling Him to MINISTER in the POWER of GOD – and we must too be FILLED with the HOLY SPIRIT for the same purpose.
• After He was FILLED with the HOLY SPIRIT, He immediately encountered SPIRITUAL WARFARE and many TRIALS to TEST His FAITH – and the same happens to us as believers: “When He has tried you, you shall come forth as gold” (read Revelation 3:18).
• He persevered to the end – and likewise, if we persevere, we will receive the blessings of God and BE ABLE TO WALK WITH YESHUA our MESSIAH TO TABERNACLES.

THE PROPHETIC ASPECT is the following:

• The prophetic season of the Day of Atonement points to the RETURN OF YESHUA the MESSIAH to JUDGE the EARTH – it will literally be fulfilled on the FINAL GREAT DAY of ATONEMENT as depicted in FEAST 6 of YHVH the Father.
• God established every 50^th year as a YEAR of JUBILEE (Leviticus 27). This was a SPECIAL YEAR for PROCLAIMING LIBERTY throughout the land and was a time of GREAT REJOICING:
• All prisoners were set free;
• Property was returned to its original owner and,
• The LAND RESTED, without being worked.
• The YEAR of JUBILEE begins on the DAY of ATONEMENT – it points to the GREAT YEAR of JUBILEE when MESSIAH YESHUA will COME TO EARTH to JUDGE THE WORLD. It will be a day of mourning for those who will be judged BUT a DAY OF REJOICING FOR BELIEVERS when:
• God’s people (believers and followers of Yeshua the Messiah), will be SET FREE once and for all from all the trials and burdens of life.
• The RULE OF EARTH will be RESTORED to the godly (those who live set apart and serve YHVH the Father in obedience to His laws, rulings and statutes), and
• There will be REST in the land.
• Also read the prophecy of Yeshua the Messiah in Isaiah 61:2-3 “…to proclaim the year of favor of YHVH and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn, yes, provide for those in Zion (Jerusalem) who mourn, giving them garlands (the NIV says: crowns) instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, a cloak of praise instead of a heavy spirit, so that they will be called oaks of righteousness planted by YHVH, in which He takes pride.” And Yeshua’s confirmation in Luke 4:16-19 when He read from the scroll of Isaiah in the synagogue on Shabbat and said in verse 21: “Today, as you heard it read, this passage of the Tanakh (the Old Testament) was fulfilled – meaning that He will be the One doing this.
• The Prophet Zechariah spoke about the future literal fulfilment in Zechariah 12:10-14 “And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem (referring to the Southern Kingdom, Judah and Benjamin) the SPIRIT OF GRACE and SUPPLICATION; then they will look on ME whom they have pierced; they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grief for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.” And Zechariah 13:1-2 & 8-9: “In that day a FOUNTAIN shall be opened for the house of David and for the inhabitants of Jerusalem (referring to the Southern Kingdom, Judah and Benjamin), for SIN and for UNCLEANESS…the names of idols will be cut off and they shall no longer be remembered…the prophets and unclean spirits to depart from the land…and it shall come to pass that two thirds shall be cut off to die, but one third shall be left in it: I will bring the one third THROUGH THE FIRE, will REFINE them as silver is refined, and TEST them as gold is tested. They will call on My Name, and I will answer them. I will say, this is My people; and each one will say, YHVH is My God.” This confirms that Judah and Benjamin (known as the Jews today) will receive a chance to accept Him as Messiah since God the Father closed their eyes to enable the Gentiles to come in (read Romans 11, Deuteronomy 29:3-4, Isaiah 29:10 and Zechariah 12-14).
• Yeshua said in Matthew 24:29-31 “IMMEDIATELY AFTER the TRIBULATION of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of heavens will be shaken. Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then ALL THE TRIBES of the earth will mourn, and THEY WILL SEE THE SON OF MAN COMING ON THE CLOUDS OF HEAVEN WITH POWER AND GREAT GLORY. And He will send His angels with a GREAT SOUND OF TRUMPET, and they will GATHER TOGETHER HIS ELECT from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.” John confirmed Yeshua words in Revelation 1:7.
• John was privileged to see the literal fulfilment of the DAY OF ATONEMENT that is captured in Revelation 19:11-16: “Now I saw heaven opened, and behold a WHITE HORSE. And HE who sits on him was called FAITHFUL and TRUE, and in RIGHTEOUSNESS HE JUDGES AND MAKES WAR. His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many CROWNS. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself. He was clothed with a ROBE DIPPED IN BLOOD, and HIS NAME is called THE WORD OF GOD. And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, WHITE AND CLEAN, FOLLOWED HIM ON WHITE HORSES. Now out of HIS MOUTH goes a SHARP SWORD, that with it HE should strike the nations. And He Himself WILL RULE THEM WITH A ROD OF IRON. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of ALMIGHTY GOD. And He has on HIS ROBE and on HIS THIGH a NAME WRITTEN: KING OF kings AND LORD OF lords.”

THE TABERNACLE PICTURE

The pictures/ imagery of the TABERNACLE and its furniture in the TORAH (Genesis tot Deuteronomy) improve our understanding and help us in taking practical steps in our journey to YHVH the Father through Yeshua our Messiah who is THE WAY, THE TRUTH and THE LIFE (according to John 14:6);

The TABERNACLE is YHVH THE FATHER’S PLAN and BLUEPRINT for SALVATION, PORTRYING YESHUA THE MESSIAH from the beginning to the end.

The TABERNACLE on earth was just a copy and shadow of the heavenly original (Hebrews 8:3-8).

• The TABERNACLE is a picture of Yeshua our Messiah who is indeed IMMANUEL, “God with us” and He Himself is God the everlasting Father according to Isaiah 7:14 and 9:6, living with us. Also read John 1:14 & 2:21, Hebrews 10:19-22 and Revelation 21:3.
• Entering the gate of the TABERNACLE was only the beginning of the journey of forgiveness and only the high priest had the privilege to enter into the presence of YHVH with fear and trembling on behalf of the people of Israel. But today we know, Yeshua our Messiah is the Way (the Gate) leading to ABBA FATHER. “Yeshua said, ‘I AM the WAY – and the TRUTH and the LIFE; no one comes to the FATHER except through Me.’” (John 14:6)
• He says in John 10:9 “I am the gate; if someone enters through Me, he will be safe and will go in and out and find pasture.”
• And in John 5:37 & 39 He says: “…the Father who sent Me has Himself testified on My behalf…You keep examining the Tanakh (the Old Testament) because you think that in it you have eternal life. Those very Scriptures bear witness to Me, but you won’t come to Me in order to have life!”
• Yeshua the Messiah is the GATE standing between the things of YHVH the Father in the OUTER COURT and the WORLD – His desire is to LET us IN not to hold us out. He is the gate, the way to ABBA Father.
• And just as in the picture of the TABERNACLE, entering the gate is just the beginning of our journey in relationship with ABBA Father.

AFTER ENTERING THE GATE (through YESHUA OUR MESSIAH) WE HAVE TO FOLLOW SEVEN STEPS AS PART OF EVERY BELIEVER’S SALVATION AND SANCTIFICATION PROCESS

By this time in the SALVATION AND SANCTIFICATION PROCESS the believer:

STEP 1: Made PEACE with YHVH the Father through the sacrifice of our Messiah Yeshua.

STEP 2: Died to the old nature and being buried with Yeshua our Messiah in the water of baptism – with other words being baptized with water for repentance/ dying with the sinless Lamb of YHVH the Father, Yeshua our Messiah, to our slavery to sin/ the old self/ the flesh).

STEP 3: We are raised with Yeshua our Messiah to a new life in Him and learning to live a sanctified, set-apart life by studying the ways of YHVH the Father in His Word and applying it. This means we SHAMA – the only word in Hebrew for OBEDIENCE that means: to HEAR, to LISTEN, to GIVE ATTENTION, to UNDERSTAND, to SUBMIT to and to OBEY.

STEP 4: Receiving the Holy Spirit by being baptized by Yeshua the Messiah WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT and with FIRE. John the Baptist was recorded in all four Gospels including Matthew 3:11 saying: “I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me comes One who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.”

STEP 5: Ultimately preparing and getting ready for entering into the presence of, and therefore into a relationship with Abba Father through prayer and worship.

Then we are ready for STEP 6

Entering into the holy presence of YHVH and being evaluated for purity and fitness to rule with Messiah Yeshua in the thousand-year reign of peace – this is therefore standing as a believer before the JUDGEMENT SEAT OF YESHUA prior to joining Him in JUDGEMENT DAY of the enemies of YHVH.

The meaning of the ARK OF THE COVENANT is: Submitting to YHVH’s Ten Commandments as part of His Torah and following Yeshua the Messiah with the help of the Holy Spirit in accordance to Abba Father’s will and ways.

• Redemptive Gift: The Ruler

The ARK of the COVENANT with its contents (Ten Commandments, staff of Aaron and manna) represents the Ruler Gift and forms the basis of the Ruler’s authority namely:

• Submitting under the commandments of YHVH.
• Accepting and executing their authority under guidance of YHVH; and
• Giving life to the people under his rule.

The Ruler was created to live in the Commandments of the YHVH, through the Word, and through that have authority over others. The Ruler is therefore the one who lets others grow in and through the Word. The Ruler is also called the ADMINISTRATER or the ORGANIZER leading with diligence (conscientious, hardworking, thoroughness) and zeal (enthusiasm, passion, eagerness) and is therefore the SHOULDERS of the Body of Messiah. The Ruler visualizes the final result of a major undertaking, enjoys coordinating the efforts of many to reach a common goal, breaks down a large task into achievable goals, is able to delegate assignments to others, see people as resources that can be used to get a job done, is willing to endure criticism in order to accomplish a task, requires loyalty in those who are under his/ her supervision, removes himself/ herself from petty details to focus on the final goal, encourages his/ her workers and inspires them to action and moves on to a new challenge once a job is finished.

SO, IN SUMMARY

THE DAY OF ATONEMENT (Yom Kippur):

Takes place on 10 Tishri, that is this year, from sundown on 1 to sundown on 2 October 2025 and must according to Abba Father’s specifications be celebrated as a SABBATH.

On this day we

Do REPENTANCE with a sincere heart and reflect on the Word of God. And as it is a required DAY OF FASTING in the Bible we consider FASTING from food (or if your health does not allow it, fasting from certain types of food like sugar, caffeine etc.), social media, TV and so forth.

We greet fellow believers on the Day of Atonement with: “May your name be inscribed in the Book of Life.”

Bible Study to be considered are the following Scriptures:

• The parable of the talents (Matthew 25:14-30)
• The parable of watchfulness (Luke 12: 42-48)
• The authority of Yeshua the Messiah as the Judge appointed by the Father (John 5:21-30)
• God’s righteous judgement (Romans 2:1-16).
• Each one’s work will be tested with fire (1 Corinthians 3:10-15)
• The Day of the Lord (Messiah Yeshua) (2 Peter 3:1-17)
• The Book of Life (Exodus 32:31-33, Daniel 7:10 & 12:1, Malachi 3:16, Psalm 56:8, 69:27-28 & 39:16, Luke 10:20, Philippians 4:3, Hebrew 12:23 and Revelation 3:5, 13:8, 17:8, 20:12-15, 21:27, 22:19).
