PREPARATION FOR THE THIRD SEASON FEASTS: THE CONGREGATION OF THYATIRA (Revelation 2:21-23)

The KING is in the FIELD! AWAKEN the BELIEVERS!

CONGREGATION FOUR: THYATIRA (Revelation 2:21-23)

MESSIAH YESHUA IS CALLING THEM TO REPENT:

He gave the JEZEBEL woman time to TURN from her sin, but she doesn’t want to REPENT of her immorality (wickedness, sin, depravity).

• God graciously gave JEZEBEL time to REPENT of her immorality.

• Very often the roots to immorality and specifically sexual immorality lie in a DEEP WOUNDING of THE SOUL (the heart/ emotions and mind/ thoughts or thinking patterns), particularly from childhood, and a LOVE-DEFICIT (not sufficient love) from parents.

• YHVH our God understands our DEEP SOUL NEEDS, but HE KNOWS sexual immorality can never address these needs, on the contrary it can only WOUND us more. Therefore, He wants us to be FREE from the control by sexual impulses and lusts.

• Sexual intercourse are designed by YHVH our God to be between a husband and his wife in the PROTECTIVE COVENANT of a MARRIAGE, where children (the fruit of the union between a man and his wife) can be raised in a PROTECTIVE and LOVING environment.

• Anything apart from that is SIN, and once indulged in, it creates a deeper bondage in the SOUL (the heart and mind) creating entry points for demons of lust. We see proof of this in the Word of YHVH where sexual sin invited the activity of demons leading to a multitude of serious sins hurting people and even causing the loss of live, especially those of children (read 2 Kings 23).

• When sinful sexual behavior has been allowed to RUN WILD in a person’s life, it brings them into CAPTIVITY in many different areas of their lives. 2 Timothy 2:26 warns us that the Adversary (Satan) can TRAP and CAPTURE us ALIVE to DO his will! This is only possible when we engage in willful sin and do not want to TURN from our sins, leading to becoming blind and death to the TRUTH of YHVH our God.

• Only YHVH our GOD can SET US FREE, when we accept YESHUA as our MESSIAH and we follow Him in SUBMITTING to the WORD and WAYS of ABBA FATHER and discover that HE IS the only ONE that can LOVE us with the PERFECT LOVE we need when providing us with HIS HOLY SPIRIT who never leaves nor forsakes us and who teach, encourage and helps us to bear the FRUIT of SELFCONTROL in our lives.

So, HE is now applying the following measures:

1) He is throwing JEZEBEL into a sickbed;

2) And those who is COMMITTING ADULTERY with her, He is throwing into GREAT TROUBLE, unless they TURN from their sins connected with what she does (leading believers into sexual immorality and practicing false teachings and customs);

3) And He will STRIKE her children dead! (meaning: the fruit cultivated through the sexual immorality and false teachings/ customs will be destroyed by Him/ He will not allow it to foster and grow and defile all the believers).

• The CONSEQUENCES of SEXUAL SIN and IDOLATRY in an INDIVIDUAL, CONGREGATION or NATION, is always a weakening: “sickness” either of the soul (the heart and mind) body or the community.

• SIN, especially SEXUAL SIN, brings a NATION LOW, causing it to be trampled by other nations (read 2 Kings 17). But in contrast, RIGHTEOUSNESS exalts a nation (Proverbs 14:34).

• CONGREGATIONS and INDIVIDUAL BELIEVERS who are overtaken with actual sexual immorality or have “joined themselves” to FALSE RELIGION and DOCTRINE, will eventually FALL SICK SPIRITUALLY and DIE.

• CONGREAGATIONS and INDIVIDUAL BELIEVERS who has COMPROMISED lose their spiritual authority and power, and when the HOLY SPIRIT has been grieved away, more and more TRUE BELIEVERS will also leave.

• That does not mean the CONGREGATION will necessarily become small or close its doors. It may just remain full of “apostate” BELIEVERS who do not TRULY follow MESSIAH YEHSUA in OBEDIENCE to the WORD of YHVH our Father and they simply does not notice that the LIVING POWER of YHVH has left them.

4) Then HE ALL the CONGREGATIONS of BELIEVERS will know:

• That HE is THE ONE who searches MINDS (thoughts) and HEARTS (emotions) and that He will give to each one what their DEEDS deserve. (Also read Jeremiah 17:10, Romans 20:6 and Revelation 22:12.

• Throughout the WORD, we are PROMISED what we SOW, we WILL REAP (Job 4:8, Proverbs 22:8, Hosea 8:7, Galatians 6:7-8). This is ultimate fairness and therefore we are called, to DO unto others what WE want them to DO to us (Matthew 7:12 & Luke 6:31). And to LOVE others as we LOVE ourselves (Leviticus 19:18, Matthew 19:19 & 22:39 & Galatians 5:14, Romans 13:9, James 2:8). 

SOUL SEARCHING

1. Have I perhaps been captured in the TRAPS of the Adversary (Satan) due to a wounded heart and unforgiveness and am I therefore perhaps doing his will by engaging in immorality and idol worship pulling me down and hurting me and my relationships and leading me further and further away from Abba Father?

2. Am I hearing the VOICE of MESSIAH YESHUA giving me NOW TIME to REPENT from any sexual immorality and idols in my life and to RETURN to HIM WHO LOVES me with a UNDLESS LOVE?

3. Am I willing to GIVE my WOUNDED, and possibly HARDENED HEART to HIM to instead RECEIVE a NEW HEART and a NEW SPIRIT from HIM, making it possible for HIM to fill me with HIS HOLY SPIRIT and experiencing HIS PERFECT LOVE and PEACE?

REPENTANCE, RESTORATION AND ENCOURAGEMENT

• We are never lost cases, but we are INCAPABLE of cleaning ourselves up, we NEED our MESSIAH YESHAU to take us out of the deep dark, muddy pit we fell into. He PROMISES us in HIS WORD that if we come to HIM in FAITH to RECEIVE HIS FORGIVENESS, HE WILL WASH us CLEAN and make us NEW again on the INSIDE (He will give us a NEW HEART and a NEW SPIRIT within which HIS HOLY SPIRIT can LIVE (1 John 1:1-10).

• Therefore, COVERING UP and DEFENDING is not the answer, there needs to be HEARTFELT OPEN REPENTANCE, if we CHOOSE to be FREE from this BONDAGE. Then, when we bring SEXUAL BONDAGE to the CROSS of MESSIAH YESHUA, in heartfelt REPENTANCE and OPEN CONFESSION with another believer we can trust, then in PRAYER we can be DELIVERED.

• Then HIS LOVE and GRACE will WASH your DEEP SOUL WOUNDS CLEAN and HEAL the LOVE-DEFICIT which caused the bondage in the first place.

• And then, because you are FORGIVEN, it is also time to FORGIVE yourself and those who have trespassed against you (Matthew 6:12, 14 & 15 and Ephesians 4:32).

• And then we are able to experience the kind of PEACE only HE can give us, PEACE that surpasses all understanding, PEACE amidst the STORMS of our LIVES because HE (the PRINCE of PEACE/ SAR SHALOM) is with us in every storm we face (Isaiah 26:3, John 14:27 & Philippians 4:7).
