PREPARATION FOR THE THIRD SEASON FEASTS: THE CONGREGATION OF THYATIRA (Revelation 2:18-19)

The KING is in the FIELD! AWAKEN the BELIEVERS!

CONGREGATION FOUR: THYATIRA (Revelation 2:18-19)

Thyatira was a working-class town with quite a few trade unions for people like carpenters, tanners, potters and weavers. There wasn’t one specific dominant religion. Lydia, one of the first BELIEVERS was from Thyatira (Acts 16:14).

MESSIAH YESHUA REVEALS HIMSELF TO THE CONGREGATION OF THYATIRA AS:

1. The SON of GOD (the Father), whose EYES are like a FIERY FLAME and whose FEET are like BURNISHED BRASS.

• We also read this description of the GLORIFEID MESSIAH YESHUA in Revelation 1:14 and 19:12.

• HIS FIERY EYES point to attributes such as:

1) OMNICIENCE – YHVH is ALL KNOWING and nothing escapes His notice (Hebrews 4:13). FLAMES burns away coverings to REVEAL what is underneath, implying MESSIAH YESHUA discerns al intentions of the SOUL (the heart/ emotions and mind/ thoughts).

2) HOLINESS and PURITY – FIRE purifies and refines (Malachi 3:2-3). MESSIAH YESHUA’s FIERY EYES signifies HIS unblemished nature and HIS authority to JUDGE RIGHTEOUSLY.

3) JUDGEMENT and AUTHORITY – in the WORD FIRE also symbolizes JUDGEMENT. Messiah Yeshua, with EYES like a FIERY FLAME distinguishes between RIGHT and WRONG, REWARDING FAITHFULNESS and condemning wickedness and HE WILL BE RETUNING as the ultimate JUDGE and We read in Revelation 19:11-12 MESSIAH YEHSUA will RETURN as RIGHTEOUS JUDGE and WAGE WAR against GOD the FATHER’s ENEMIES. His penetrating gaze indicates that He JUDGES with PERFECT KNOWLEDGE and absolute FAIRNESS.

• HIS FEET like BURNISHED BRASS point to:

1) The WORK of MESSIAH YESHUA as HIGH PRIEST in the ORDER of MELCIZEDECK (King of Righteousness), ministering on believer’s behalf in the HEAVENLY TEMPLE.

2) And VICTORY over HIS ENEMIES in the “great winepress of GOD (the Father’s) wrath” (Revelation 13:15, 14:19-20 & 19:15).

3) HE must REIGN until HE has put ALL HIS enemies under HIS FEET (Psalm 110:1, 1 Corinthians 15:25, Ephesians 1:22 and Hebrews 2:8 & 10:13).

• He is also the ONE who meets us in the FIRE (trials, tribulations & persecutions) and WALKS with us PROTECTING us against EARTHLY FIRES (trials and tribulations, persecutions). Isaiah 43:2 & Daniel 3:19-29.

THE BELIEVERS IN THYATIRA ARE COMMENDED FOR:

• Their LOVE, TRUST (FAITH), SERVICE (serving YHVH their God and fellow believers with their SPIRITUAL GIFTS) and PERSEVERANCE (not giving up in the struggle against sin by looking ahead to eternity, Galatians 6:9 and Hebrews 12:1-4).

• DOING MORE now than before.

SOUL SEARCHING

1. Am I known for my LOVE, TRUST (FAITH), and SERVICE to YHVH my God and fellow believers in line with my spiritual gifts and PERSEVERANCE against sin?

2. Am I now SHOWING MORE LOVE, and STRONGER FAITH, SERVING YHVH and fellow believers and PERSEVERING against sin than before (am I therefore GROWING in my FAITH, DEVELOPING my SPIRITUAL GIFITS, EXCELLING in my SERVICE to YHVH and fellow believers and STANDING SRONGER in my battle against sin?)

RESTORATION AND ENCOURAGEMENT

• IDENTIFY ways in which I can SHOW more of YHVH our GOD’s 1 Corinthians 13 LOVE to fellow believers and other people in general.

• GROW STRONGER in my FAITH by FINDING and STANDING on the PROMISES in YHVH’s WORD (consider writing some of HIS PROMISES down and declaring it each day over your and your loved one’s lives).

• Identify and develop my SPIRITUAL GIFTS and explore WAYS I can be of SERVICE to fellow believers.

• PRAY to ABBA FATHER in the NAME of MESSIAH YESHUA to help and strengthen me to PERSERVERE against sin.
