THE GOSPELS: THE SERMON ON THE MOUNT: BEATITUDE 5, BLESSED are those who SHOW MERCY for they will be SHOWN MERCY, Part 4

3 July 2026

We are proceeding to study the SERMON of YESHUA on the MOUNT.

We are mainly reading from the Complete Jewish Study Bible insight for Jews and Christians. We use the Hebrew letters for the name of God, YHVH (Yod-Heh-Vav-Heh) where the word LORD in English is indicated in capital letters in the Scriptures. The reason being that the Jewish writers removed the vowels in God’s name out of fear of transgressing the third Commandment of taking His Name in vain. And today there is a lot of controversy about the pronunciation of His Name.  We also refer to Him as Abba Father and use the Hebrew Name Yeshua the Messiah instead of the English Name Jesus Christ translated from the Greek.

We are studying the fifth BEATITUDE in Matthew 5:7 where Yeshua our Messiah taught: “How BLESSED (meaning happy and fortunate) are those who show MERCY! For they will be shown MERCY.”

We are focussing on what the WORD teaches us on MERCY.

So far we have learned that:

  • We must GIVE MERCY to other people, if we want to RECEIVE MERCY from God.
  • MERCY is defined as God’s undeserved kindness and compassion towards humanity. GRACE is defined as God’s undeserved FAVOR. Mercy and Grace are therefore closely related but distinct in that MERCY withholds the punishment that we deserves as sinful human beings and God’s GRACE gives us the GOOD that we do not deserve. And we need both God’s MERCY and GRACE to BE SAVED.
  • MERCY is part of GOD’s CHARACTER. He is described in the Word as MERCIFUL (compassionate, kind-hearted, forgiving), slow to anger and rich in GRACE.
  • MERCY cannot exist without JUDGEMENT. The weightier matters of God’s Word, the Torah (Genesis to Deuteronomy) includes: JUSTICE (fairness, reasonableness), MERCY (compassion and kindness) and TRUST (faith). The ARK of the COVENANT (considered as God’s throne on earth in the Old Testament, represents all these elements and was a shadow of the importance of both GOD’s LAW as summarised in His TEN COMMANDMENTS and GOD’s MERCY and GRACE in Yeshua our Messiah’s precious blood paying the price for our sins.
  • There is a strong connection between MERCY, REPENTANCE and FORGIVENESS. REPENTANCE opens the DOOR to MERCY. When we are HONEST and HUMBLE and ask God to FORGIVE us, HIS MERCY MEETS us. MERCY is therefore not cheap; it CALLS US TO CHANGE. But it is also PATIENT and ENCOURAGING. We therefore have to COME CLEAN with GOD and ACCEPT HIS MERCY. This helps us GROW and LIVE in FREEDOM.

And today we are focussing on:

MERCY IN ACTION

We are called to be MERCIFUL as our FATHER is MERCIFUL and YESHUA our MESSIAH, GOD in the flesh, is our LIVING EXMPLE of MERCY. He touched people, forgave sinners, heal the sick and fed the hungry. His LIFE shows MERCY in action. MERCY changes lives. He met people where they were and gave them HOPE.

God created us and therefore it is no surprise that He also heals us when we are physically, emotionally (involving our hearts and minds) or spiritually damaged. We read in Exodus 15:26 “…I AM YHVH your HEALER.”

And it is clear in the Old Testament that the people knew that YHVH was their HEALER. David says in Psalm 30:2 “YHVH my God, I cried out to You and You provided HEALING for me.” Also read Jeremiah 30:17 and in Jeremiah 33 we read about the promise of RESTORATION of ISRAEL and spiritual blessings and God saying in verses 6-8: “…I will bring it HEALTH and HEALING; I will HEAL them and reveal to them PEACE and TRUTH in plenty. I will cause the captives of JUDAH (the Southern Kingdom consisting of the tribes of Judah and Benjamin, known as the Jews) and the captives of ISRAEL (the Northern Kingdom consisting of the ten tribes under Ephraim) to RETURN; and I will build them up as I did at first. I will CLEANSE (wash, purify) them from ALL their sins, through which they offended Me; and I will PARDON (forgive) ALL their sins, through which they offended and rebelled against Me.”

We are told in Psalm 34:18 that YHVH is near the BROKEN HEARTED and HE SAVES those crushed in spirit, and we read in Psalm 147:3 “He HEALS the BROKEN HEARTED and BINDS UP their WOUNDS.”

And Isaiah prophesied in chapter 42, God the Father, will send His Servant, the Messiah who will be a light to the nations, opening blind eyes (physically as He demonstrated but also emotionally, the heart and mind) and spiritually as He did with Paul with his misplaced passion for religion on the road to Damascus as told by Paul in Acts 26:9-21), freeing prisoners form living in confinement in spiritual darkness (being held captive by the devil to do his will as Paul says in 2nd Timothy 2:26).

And we read in Psalm 146:5-9 “Happy (content, joyful) is he whose help is Jacob’s God, whose HOPE is in YHVH his God. He made heaven and earth, the sea and everything in them; He keeps faith (devotion, commitment) forever. HE SECURES JUSTICE for the oppressed (those burdened, worried, troubled), He GIVES FOOD to the hungry. YHVH SETS prisoners FREE, YHVH OPENS the eyes of the blind, YHVH LIFTS UP those who are bent over. YHVH LOVES the righteous. YHVH WATCHES OVER (guards) strangers, HE SUSTAINS the fatherless and widows;”

And these verses corresponds with the prophesy of Yeshua our Messiah in Isaiah 61:1 as later confirmed by Himself when He read the passage in Isaiah 61, as recorded in Luke 4:18-21 at the beginning of His ministry saying: “The Spirit of YHVH is upon Me; because He has anointed Me to announce GOOD NEWS to the poor (those who understand and know their need for Him, having an attitude of remorse/ heartfelt regret, repentance and absolute dependence on God for salvation, righteousness and everything else); He has sent Me to PROCLAIM FREEDOM for the imprisoned (those in captivity of sin and the fear of death) and RENEWED SIGHT for the blind (those who are spiritually blind and unable to see and understand the TRUTH of His Word), to RELEASE those who have been crushed (those who have been taken captive by the devil and have been oppressed/ burdened/plagued/ worried, harmed, made ill and broken emotionally and spiritually by their sin) to PROCLAIM a YEAR of FAVOR for YHVH.” And then after closing the scroll, saying: “Today, as you heard it read, this passage of the Tanakh (the Old Testament) was fulfilled!” Meaning, HERE I AM, IT IS I WHO HAVE BEEN PROPHECIED ABOUT BY ISAIAH and HAVE BEEN SENT BY MY FATHER to DO ALL these things!

Therefore we clearly recognize YHVH our God in the Old Testament as Yeshua our Messiah, the body of God the Father, in the New Testament with His gentle and MERCYFUL HEART!

And we read in Matthew 4:24 “Yeshua went all over Galilee TEACHING in their synagogues, PROCLAIMING the GOOD NEWS of the KINGDOM, and HEALING people from every kind of disease and sickness. Word of Him spread throughout all Syria, and the people brought to Him ALL who were ill, suffering from various diseases and pains, and those held in the power of demons (also called unclean or evil spirits and lying spirits and can affecting people by causing physical illness, mental abnormalities, emotional disorders and moral temptation), and epileptics and paralytics; and He HEALED them.  Similarly we read in Matthew 9:35 “Yeshua went about ALL the towns and villages TEACHING in their synagogues, PROCLAIMING the GOOD NEWS of the KINGDOM, and HEALING people from every kind of disease and weakness.” And this time we further read in verses 36-38 “When He saw the crowds, He had COMPASSION on them because they were harried (stressed, distraught) and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd (also read Mark 6:34). Then He said to His disciples, the HARVEST is rich, but the workers are few. Pray that the MASTER of the HARVEST will send out workers to gather in HIS HARVEST.” So from these words we can see that Yeshua the Messiah’s healing of people went beyond healing them only physically but included spiritual healing in terms of SAVING people’s SOULS.  We read in Matthew 8:16 “When evening came, many people held in the power of demons were brought to Him. He expelled (casted out) the (evil, unclean and lying) spirits with a word and HEALED ALL who were ill. This was done to fulfil what had been spoken through the prophet Isaiah (quoting Isaiah 53:4, saying) He Himself took our weaknesses and bore our diseases.”  Isaiah 53 is a well-known prophecy of the SAVIOUR that would die for our sins and set us FREE from our crimes and sins with the aim of HEALING us, physically, emotionally (heart and mind) and spiritually. This is also reiterated by Peter in 1st Peter 2:24-25 saying to God’s chosen people as we see in chapter 1:1-2 – chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father and set apart by the Spirit for obeying Yeshua the Messiah and for sprinkling with His blood (therefore saved by Him): “He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to our sins and LIVE for RIGHTEOUSNESSby HIS wounds you were HEALED. For you used to be like sheep gone astray, but now you have turned to the Shepherd, who watches over (guards and protects) you.”

We also read in Matthew 15:30-31 “…and large crowds came to Him, bringing with them the lame, he blind, the crippled, the mute and many others. They laid them at His feet, and HE HEALED them. The people were amazed as they saw mute people speaking, crippled people cured, lame people walking and blind people seeing; and they said a blessing to the GOD of ISRAEL.”

Yeshua our Messiah called HIMSELF the GOOD SHEPPHERD in John chapter 10 who have come so that we may have LIFE in its FULLEST MEASURE. Therefore His desire is clearly not only SAVING us but ALSO GIVING US ABUNDANT LIFE, which includes GOOD PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL (including our hearts and minds) and SPIRITUAL HEALTH. Experiencing this wholeness comes through faith in Him, focussing on His perfect LOVE for us and seeking His presence continually. The healing of our spiritual and emotional wounds require attention and care which God as our Creator and Healer understands and wants to provide. He helps us heal from regrets, shame, guilt and despair (depression and hopelessness) when we open our hearts and surrender our pasts to Him so that He can restore and renew us as only He is able to through His healing power, His unwavering love, mercy and forgiveness, the greatest sources of our healing.

We read confirmation in Matthew 11:28 “Come to Me, ALL of you who are struggling and burdened, and I WILL GIVE you REST. Take MY yoke upon you and LEARN from ME, because I AM GENTLE and HUMBLE in HEART, and you WILL FIND REST FOR your SOULS (therefore rest for your heart, your emotions and minds, your thoughts and improve your ability to make sound free will decisions in line with God’s Word).

In Matthew 20:29-33 we see the TENDERNESS with which Yeshua HEALED two blind men who asked Him to have pity on them and we read in verse 34: “Filled with TENDERNESS, Yeshua touched their eyes; and instantly they received their sight and followed Him.” We also see the RESULT of their HEALING lead to them FOLLOWING HIM!

In Mark 1:40 a leper (a person with leprosy) begged Yeshua on his knees and said to Him: “If You are willing, You can make me clean (uncontaminated, pure, unpolluted).” And we read in verses 41-42: “Moved with pity (compassion, empathy) Yeshua reached out His hand and said to him, I AM willing! Be cleansed (washed, purified)! Instantly, the leprosy left him, and he was cleansed.”

We also see a CONNECTION between NOT SINNING and being HEALED.

We read in John 5:1-13 about Yeshua healing a man who had been ill for 38 years. And then we read in verse 14: “Afterwards Yeshua found him in the Temple court and said to him: See, you are well! Now STOP SINNING, or something worse may happen to you!” And in John 8:1-10 we read about the woman caught in adultery and Yeshua keeping the Pharisees from stoning her by reminding them of their own sin. And then we read in verse 10-11, Yeshua saying to her: “Where are they? Has no one condemned you? She said, No one, sir. Yeshua said, neither do I condemn you. Now go, and don’t sin anymore.”

We therefore see that He encouraged people to maintain their GOOD PHYSICAL HEATH by KEEPING from SINNING. To understand this connection we must look at the context that GOD puts it in HIS WORD from the very beginning. SIN is something that SEEKS to DESTROY us, it is like something sitting at the door of your house and looking for an opportunity to enter as soon as your door is not guarded, like Abba Father told Cain in Genesis 4:7 He then warned Cain that the sin crouching at your door wants you, but you CAN RULE over it. It is therefore a conscious decision that each one f us must make, we can either allow sin in our lives and be defeated by it, or we can cast it out and keep it out and RULE over it, therefore have victory over it. And in John 8:34 and 44 Yeshua our Messiah warns in line with this that sin can ENSLAVE us and make us carry out Satan’s desires, who is a murderer from the beginning with no truth in him, therefore he is the father of lies and will indeed deceive those who choose to sin and therefore to follow him.

When we SIN deliberately and live without self-control, the Word of God compares it to city that is broken down, and without walls in Proverbs 25:28.  And without walls, a city, or in our case in South Africa, your house or security complex will be exposed to enemies and destruction. Likewise, if we do not guard our eyes and ears, the main gateways leading to our minds and hearts with self-control, a fruit of God’s Holy Spirit, we would be like a city without walls, willingly allowing the enemy to enter our lives and harm us as he wishes. We are seriously warned in Hebrews 10:26-31 about the consequences of wilful sin (intentionally, deliberately, doing something wrong while we know it is against God’s Word and will for our lives), saying: “For if we deliberately continue to sin after receiving the KNOWLEDGE of the TRUTH (meaning after we have been informed by the Word that something is against the will of God for our lives), there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but only the terrifying prospect of JUDGEMENT, of raging fire (referring to the Lake of Fire in Revelation 20:11-15) that will consume the enemies (of God, of which we know Satan is one as we read in Revelation 20:10, also read Isaiah 26:11). Someone who disregards the Torah of Moses (Genesis to Deuteronomy as written down on God’s instruction by Moses) is put to death without mercy on the word of two or three witnesses (read Deuteronomy 17:6 & 19:15). Think how much worse will be the punishment deserved by someone who has trampled underfoot (trashing, walking on) the Son of God (Yeshua the Messiah); who has treated as something common the BLOOD of the COVENANT (His precious blood that paid the full price for our sins) which made him (which made us) holy (sanctified us, set us apart for God the Father); and who has insulted the Spirit, giver of God’s GRACE! For the One we know is the One who sad, Vengeance is MY RESPONSIBILITY; I will repay, and then said, YHVH will JUDGE His people.” (Read Deuteronomy 32:35-36). It is a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the LIVING GOD!” Also read Yeshua’s warnings about this in Matthew 10:28 and Luke 12:5. And in Hebrews 6:4-8 it is explained that trampling the Son of God underfoot and treating the BLOOD of the COVENANT as common means: “..they keep executing the Son of God on the cross all over again and holding Him to public contempt (scorn, disrespect, ridicule). For the land that soaks up frequent rains and then brings forth a crop useful to its owners receives a blessing from God; but if it keeps producing thorns and thistles (a picture of keeping on with wilful sin after being saved), it FAILS the TEST and is close to being cursed; in the end, it will be burned (alluding to the Lake of Fire).” Also read 2nd Peter chapter 2 discussing false teachers and specifically verses 15-22.

So please do not fall into the trap of using Paul’s letters which have been misunderstood (misinterpreted, misread, misheard, mistaken) and twisted (distorted) by the uninstructed (the uninformed) and unstable (unsound, unreliable) people to their own destruction as Peter warns in 2nd Peter 3:15-17, believing that when we are saved by Yeshua our Messiah we are under grace and can allow wilful sin in our lives and not repenting of accidental sins without being destroyed by it and without being exposed to God the Father’s wrath. Paul clearly explains in Romans 6 that when we are saved, we DIE to sin as part of being baptised into the death of Yeshua our Messiah (this forms part of our SALVATION and SANCTIFICATION PROCESS as depicted in YHVH our God’s FIRST TRHEE FEASTS). John clearly tells us in 1st John 3:7-10 “Children, don’t let anyone deceive you – it is the person that keeps on doing what is RIGHT who is RIGHTEOUS, just as God is RIGHTEOUS. The person who keeps on sinning is from the Adversary (the devil and Satan), because from the very beginning the Adversary (the devil, Satan) has kept on sinning. It was for this very reason that the Son of God appeared to DESTROY these doings of the Adversary (the devil, Satan). No one who has God as his Father keeps on sinning, because the seed planted by God remains in Him. That is, he cannot continue sinning, because he has God as his Father. Here is how one can distinguish clearly between God’s children and those of the Adversary (the devil, Satan): everyone who does not continue DOING what is RIGHT in not from God. Likewise, anyone who fails to keep LOVING his brother in not from God (please note this has to do with treating people as we would like them to treat us and not harming them in any way, therefore applying Commandment 5-10 as Paul also instructs believers in Romans 13:8-14).”

It can also be compared to a SHEEPFOLD, as Yeshua Himself, being our GOOD SHEPHERD explained in John chapter 10 and indicating He is admitted by the “door-keeper”. He however warns that the thief and robber would try to climb in some other way with the aim of stealing, killing and destroying.

We must have no doubts about it, SIN IS DANGEROUS. We read in Proverbs 5:21-23 “For YHVH is watching (observing, inspecting) man’s ways (habits, conduct, customs, behaviour, traditions); He surveys (examines) ALL his paths. A wicked (evil, morally wrong) person’s own crimes (corruptions, wrong doings, misconduct, lawbreaking) will trap (trick, snare, catch) him, he will be held fast by the ropes (chains, cords) of his sin. He will die from lack of discipline (correction, self-restraint, self-control), the magnitude (the enormous amount) of his folly (foolishness, madness, recklessness, irrationality) will make him totter (stumble) and fall (collapse).” So one gets the picture here of a person tied up by his or her own sin and stumbling under the heavy load to the point of total collapse, because this is the very nature of sin, its intention is to kill and destroy. But please note, the person has a choice to lay down this enormous weight he or she is carrying. DELIVERANCE through Yeshua our Messiah is possible no matter how deep the bondage because that is the very reason why He came, to SET people FREE from SIN and the fear of death (Read Luke 4:18 and Hebrews 2:14).

And these are the reasons why Yeshua our Messiah warned the people whom He HEALED and SET FREE, not to sin wilfully (intentionally, deliberately, doing something wrong while you know it is against God’s Word and will for your life), for that will lead to their own destruction. Peter also warned about this in 1st Peter 5:8-9 saying “Stay sober! Stay alert! (much like you would protect your family against burglars during the night, because just like them, we are warned by Peter) Your enemy, the Adversary (the great dragon, the ancient serpent of Genesis 3, also known as the devil and Satan according to Revelation 12:9), stalks about like a roaring lion looking for someone (who is not guarding his or her gates, their eyes and ears to their hearts and minds) to devour.” And then Peter encourages us in verse 9-10, just as Paul in Ephesians 6:10-18, “Stand against him (the Adversary, the devil, Satan), FIRM in your TRUST (faith, hope), knowing that your brothers (fellow believers) throughout the world are going through the same kinds of suffering. You will have to suffer only a little while ; after that, GOD (the Father), who is full of grace, the ONE who called you to His ETRNAL GLORY in UNION with the MESSIAH, will HIMSELF RESTORE, ESTABLISH and STRENGTHEN you and MAKE you FIRM. ”

We must therefore understand that God, in HIS LOVE and MERCY for us, gave us the REPENTANCE process to follow for accidental sins, as set out in 1 John 1:1-10 to KEEP US FREE from sin, and therefore keep the Adversary (the devil, Satan) from getting a foothold in our lives on earth, burdening us with accusations, fear, guilt and shame, tying us up with the chains of sin and ultimately trying to destroying us, while we, stubbornly and with an unrepentant heart are storing up anger for ourselves for the GREAT WHITE THRONE JUDGEMENT at the end of time (read Romans 2:1-5).

And that is why YHVH our God already tells us in Exodus 15:26 where He, our CREATOR, also introduces Himself as our HEALER the conditions of healing as the following: “If you will LISTEN intently (closely, carefully) to the VOICE of YHVH your God, DO what He considers RIGHT, pay ATTENTION to HIS mitzvoth (His Commandments) and OBSERVE HIS LAWS, I will not afflict you with any off the diseases I brought on the Egyptians; because I AM your HEALER.” REMEMBER, sin is defined in 1 John 3:4 as violating Torah (Genesis to Deuteronomy and summed up in the Ten Commandments). In other Bible versions, SIN is indicated as LAWLESSNESS, with other words, sin is doing something which is AGAINST the LAW of God as defined in His Word. Therefore God the Father as well as Yeshua our Messiah are telling us that LAWLESSNESS, meaning not listening to His voice in HIS WORD, and no doing what he considers right, and not paying attention to His COMMANDMENTS and observe HIS LAWS, will lead to affliction (illness, disorders, infirmities) and disease (syndromes).

So please take heart GOD LOVES US and wants ALL PEOPLE to come to REPENTANCE and be SAVED (as we read in Ezekiel 33:11, 1st Timothy 2:3-4 and 2nd Peter 3:9) and REMEMBER, ALL of us are sinners and are able, with God’s grace, through our Messiah Yeshua and the Holy Spirit’s power to escape the snares of the Adversity (the devil, Satan) and TURN BACK to GOD the Father when we hear Him calling us. Paul himself explains it as follows in Titus 2:11-14 “For GOD’s GRACE, which brings DELIVERANCE, has appeared to ALL people. It teaches us to RENOUNCE godlessness (the absence of reverence, trust/ faith and acknowledgement of YHVH the God who created and uphold all things) and worldly pleasures (desires), and to live self-controlled, upright and godly (devout, righteous, holy/ set-apart) lives now, in this age; while continuing to expect the blessed fulfilment of our certain HOPE, which is the appearing of the Sh’khinah (the Divine presence, the manifest glory) of our GREAT GOD (the Father) and the appearing  (the Second Coming) of our DELIVERER, Yeshua the Messiah. He gave Himself up on our behalf in order to FREE us from ALL violation of Torah (Genesis to Deuteronomy, summed up in the Ten Commandments) and PURIFY for Himself a people who would be eager to DO GOOD.”

He is a MERCIFUL GOD and therefore HE expects of HIS CHILDREN (believers in HIM and HIS follower) to BE MERCIFUL.

Having no MERCY is regarded by God as a SIN! GO LEARN WHAT MERCY IS! Matthew 9:13. And in Matthew 24 Yeshua talks about the time of HIS SECOND COMING and explains the beginning of the birth pains with the news of wars, people and nations fighting each other and famines and earthquakes in various parts of the world and in verses 9-13 He said: “At that time you will be arrested and handed over to be punished and put to death, and all peoples will hate you because of Me. At that time many will be TRAPPED into betraying and hating each other, many false prophets will appear and fool many people, and many people’s LOVE will grow cold because of increased DISTANCE from TORAH (Genesis to Deuteronomy, summed up in the Ten Commandments, meaning LOVE for GOD above all else and LOVE for other people as equal to the LOVE for ourselves, therefore LOVE as defined in the TEN COMMANDMENTS of GOD). But whoever holds out till the END will be delivered.” Also read Yeshua’s messages to the SEVEN CONGREGATIONS in Revelation chapter 2-3. The same happened in the time of Noah as we read in Genesis 6:5, the wickedness of man was great and every intention of their thoughts were evil continually, therefore, they SINNED, meaning lawlessness prevailed against God’s LAW of what is GOOD and RIGHT in HIS eyes.  And we read in 2nd Timothy 3:1-5 Paul confirmed the trying times at the end of days saying: “People will be SELF-LOVERS (note not LOVERS of God or other people like themselves, but only lovers of themselves), MONEY-LOVING (therefore bowing before this small letter god instead of bowing before YHVH their Creator), proud, arrogant, insulting, disobedient to parents (in violation of Commandment 5 of honouring their parents), ungrateful (unthankful, showing no gratitude), unholy (not committed and set-apart for God, but choosing to belong to the world), heartless (not having any MERCY, compassion, empathy, kindness and forgiveness for other people), unappeasable (greedy, never satisfied, always desiring more including coveting what others have, in violation of Commandment 10), slanderous (insulting other and giving false evidence against the in violation of Commandment 9), uncontrolled   (having no self-control as fruit of the Holy spirit), brutal (ruthless, cruel, merciless, vicious that could lead to murder in violation of Commandment 6), hateful of (what is) good (decent, upright and worthy according to God’s Word), traitorous (disloyal, dishonest, unfaithful, therefore lying and  adultery in violation of Commandments 7 & 8), headstrong (stubborn), swollen with conceit  (self-importance), loving pleasure (the world) rather than God, as they retain the outer form of RELIGION but deny its power (being religious, attending church services but not living according to the Word of God and therefore not demonstrating the FRUIT of the Holy Spirit in their behaviour, neither demonstrating the power of the Holy Spirit in PROCLAIMING the GOOD NEWS by applying the GIFTS of the SPIRIT and executing their callings, like the disciples did after being filled with the Holy Spirit). Therefore, the MAIN REASON for having no MERCY in the last days that we are living in is that GOD’s type of LOVE as described in His LAWS of LOVE for Him, other people and ourselves is growing cold because people (including modern day churches) rejected His LAWS and HIS Commandments.

AS believer’s God’s Word tell us to be kind, help the poor and FORGIVE others and ourselves. When we truly humble ourselves and know God’s GRACE for us, guarding our hearts against pride and pursuing true humility in total dependence on God, bringing our pain and burdens to Yeshua our Messiah, forgiving others and ourselves and accepting God’s forgiveness for us, developing meekness in our lives with His help, and hungering and thirsting for God’s righteousness, will be equipped by God to exercise the virtue and gift of MERCY, to demonstrate HIS LOVE and HIS immense, undeserved GRACE to others.
