THE GOSPELS: The Ministry of Yeshua the Messiah begins – Luke 4:14 THE POWER of THE HOLY SPIRIT from Matthew to Revelation (Part 2)

We are studying Luke 4:14-32, Mathew 4:12, Mark 1:14-15 about the beginning of the MINISTRY of YESHUA THE MESSIAH. And we are still focusing on Luke 4:14. We commenced last week with exploring the POWER of THE HOLY SPIRIT from the Gospel of Matthew to the Book of Revelation and we are continuing with it today.

We are mainly reading from the Complete Jewish Study Bible – insight for Jews and Christians. And use the Hebrew name of God, YHVH (Yod-Heh-Vav-Heh) where the word LORD in English is indicated in capital letters in the Scriptures, also referring to Him as Abba Father and use the Hebrew Name Yeshua the Messiah instead of the English Name Jesus Christ translated from the Greek.

In Luke 4:14 we read: “Yeshua returned to Galilee in the power of the Spirit (the Holy Spirit) and reports of Him spread throughout the country side.”

Last week we used the life of YESHUA our MESSIAH as our EXAMPLE, INITIATER (PIONEER/ FORERUNNER) and COMPLETER (PERFECTOR) of FAITH (according to Hebrews 12:2) to understand the role of the POWERFUL SPIRIT of YHVH in BELIEVER’s lives and we spoke about the different life stages spanning from:

1. Physical birth.
2. Abba Father’s instruction to be taught the Word from childhood to teenager.
3. And in adulthood Abba Father calls us to TAKE OUR OWN DECISION/ TO CHOOSE to WALK on the NARROW WAY of SALVATION and SANCTIFICATION through Yeshua our Messiah and in so doing fulfilling the PURPOSE He has made each one of us.

 This is STEP 1: Hearing Abba Father’s call through hearing the Word and then DECIDING to accept the death of Yeshua our Messiah on the cross for our sins, once and for all to reconcile us with the Father.

 We learn in the Bible about this in the DESCRIPTION of the TABERNACLE in the wilderness and later the TEMPLE.

 The representation (picture, symbol, depiction) of STEP 1 of the SALVATION and SANCTIFICATION process in the TABERNACLE comprises of: Hearing Abba Father’s call and then CHOOSING to enter the TABERNACLE through the GATE (Yeshua the Messiah, the ONLY WAY to Abba Father according to John 14:6) and STOPPING in the OUTERCOURT at the brazen ALTAR, fulfilled by the CROSS of Yeshua the Messiah, the spotless, blameless LAMB of God the Father, the final and perfect sacrifice for our sins (Hebrews 9:12 and 10:10).

 We annually celebrate the FEASTS of YHVH to REHEARSE His SALVATION and SANTIFICATION PLAN for our lives – making sure we STAY ON TRACT in OBEDIENCE to HIM and enjoy the FULL LIVE of ABUNDANCE He came to give us through Yeshua our Messiah and to fulfil our PURPOSE and to LIVE for HIS HONOUR and IN HIS PRESENCE, enjoying  HIS FAVOUR and BLESSINGS until THE DAY we will meet HIM face-to-face and be with Him FOREVER.

The representation (picture, symbol, depiction) of STEP 1 of the SALVATION and SANCTIFICATION process in terms of the SEVEN FEASTS of YHVH is:

The FIRST FEAST of YHVH being: PASSOVER. The instructions have been given in Exodus 12:1-14 and Leviticus 23:5 and repeated in Numbers 9:2-3 and 28:16 as well as Deuteronomy 16:1-7 and the FEAST is fulfilled by the CRUCIFICTION of YESHUA our MESSIAH as depicted in the Gospels of Mathew, Mark, Luke & John and practically implemented and explained by the FIRST BELIEVERS in the rest of the New Testament.

HOW DO WE TAKE THIS FIRST STEP?

It requires TWO ACTIONS from a person:

ACTION 1: We ACCEPT the high price He paid for us with His own blood as a FREE GIFT (John 3:16-17, Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 3:23-24 and Romans 6:23) and thereby we CHOOSE to accept Him as our SAVIOUR and lay down ALL our SINS at HIS FEET at the CROSS of CALVARY. No sins are too big or too small to bring to Him. ALL that is necessary is our WILLINGNESS to come to HIM!

ACTIONS 2: REPENTANCE

We ACKNOWLEDGE our sins to Him, REPENT with a heart full of remorse, RECEIVE and ACCEPT His FORGIVENESS and TURN AWAY from our OLD SINFUL LIVES and live a life for Him (Psalm 51:4, Matthew 4:17, Luke 13:3Acts 2:38 and 3:19, 2 Peter 3:9, 1 John 1:8-10, Revelation 3:19).

Before a person will be WILLING to REPENT one has to comprehend the ABHORRENCE (repulsion) of SIN and what it is DOING to you – SIN is LAWLESSNESS (anarchy, disorder, chaos) and part of the LAWLESS one, also called the father of lies (read John 8:44, 1 John 3:4, 2 Thessalonians 2:7 and Titus 2:14) whose intention it is to DECEIVE and BLIND people with his lies, enabling him to steal from them (their dignity/ self-respect, self-esteem, self-worth and their relationships), to destroy them and to kill them (because he is after all the one who brought sin and death into the world, read 2 Corinthians 4:4, John 10:10a and Romans 5:12). Yeshua came to FREE us from the bonds of sin and death. (Read Hosea 13:14, John 11:25-26, 1 Corinthians 15:26, Hebrews 2:14-15, Revelation 20:6 and 14). It is therefore necessary to SEE SIN for WHAT it is, BEFORE we will be able to CHOOSE to ADMIT it and to LEAVE it behind. As long as we have a “love affair” with sin, we will feel afraid that someone will know about it and guilty and ashamed about it but as long as we can keep it hidden we will keep on doing it – sometimes out of spite, sometimes out of hopelessness, sometimes out of feelings of worthlessness UNTIL we BRING IT INTO the LIGHT by ADMITTING it and REPENTING it with regret and sorrow THEN God can FREE us and HEEL us! And we can START walking on the NARROW WAY of SANCTIFICATION experiencing the JOY and PEACE of GOD.

Then follows Water Baptism.

This is STEP 2: Deciding to DIE with Yeshua the Messiah to our OLD NATURE that enjoyed it to walk on the BROAD WAY of the WORLD (also called the flesh/ the sinful nature). This OLD NATURE is recognized in the FRUITS of the FLESH as explained by Paul in many of his letters but specifically in Galatians 5:19-21 being: sexual immorality, impurity (dirtiness) and indecency (lewdness/ filthiness/ profanity, licentiousness/ shamelessness), involvement in the occult and with drugs, in feuding (arguing, disagreeing), fighting (aggressiveness, hostility), becoming jealous (envious, covetous, bitter), and getting angry (annoyed, aggravated, irritated, mad, furious, violent, wrathful), in selfish ambition (self-centered, self-seeking drive/ motivation),  factionalism, intrigue (plotting, conspiracy, trickery/ deception/ deceit/ dishonesty/ fraud, scheming/ devious/ cunning/ sly/ sneaky, secrecy) , and envy (jealousy, greed, bitterness, resentment/ dislike/ hatred, spite/ malice/ meanness/ unkindness/ nastiness/ vindictiveness/ cruelty), drunkenness, orgies (wild parties) and things like these.

When we are BAPTISED into the WATER, it is like the OLD SELF/NATURE full of all the sinful fruit of the flesh just mentioned, DIES in the WATER GRAVE and the NEW YOU rise up with YESHUA the MESSIAH and are now DEAD to SIN but ALIVE for GOD the FATHER in UNION with YESHUA the MESSIAH. Paul explains it in Romans 6:3-11.

The representation (picture, symbol, depiction) of STEP 2 of the SALVATION and SANCTIFICATION process in the TABERNACLE comprises of: Walking from the brazen ALTAR, (a picture of the CROSS of Yeshua the Messiah) to the BRAZEN WATERBASIN in front of the HOLY PLACE depicting WATER BAPTISM and a life of DAILY washing dirty hands & feet (daily repenting of accidental sins committed).

What this means is that Yeshua in effect made us through His death PRIESTS of YHVH the FATHER- Revelation 1:6 and like the Levite priests who had to wash their hands and feet before entering the HOLY PLACE, we, although ALREADY WSHED CLEAN of our sins with HIS BLOOD that flowed for our sins, still have to DAILY REPENT of accidental sins before entering into Abba Father’s presence. He explained this principle to His disciples when He washed their feet at the LAST PASSOVER MEAL He had with them prior to His crucifixion (read Matthew 26:17-39, Luke 22:24-27, John 13:1-17). We are therefore cleansed from our sins through His blood meaning we are FREED FROM THE SALVERY to SIN, but due to us not FREED YET from the sinful world we have to live in, we will still commit unintentional or accidental sins and THEREFORE we still, like the priests of old, require to WASH our HANDS and FEET with DAILY REPENTANCE and RENEW our MINDS with the WATER of the WORD (as we will see in STEP 3, to help us move further and further away from our old sinful life style, and closer and closer to holiness as we became more and more set apart for Abba Father.

The representation (picture, symbol, depiction) of STEP 2 of the SALVATION and SANCTIFICATION process in terms of the SEVEN FEASTS of YHVH is:

The SECOND FEAST of YHVH namely: UNLEAVENED BREAD. LEAVEN in the Bible is an analogy of sin – being puffed up due to sin in our lives. The instructions for this FEAST have been given in Exodus 12:15-20 and Leviticus 23:6-8 and repeated in Numbers 28:17-25 as well as Deuteronomy 16:8 and fulfilled by the BURIAL of YESHUA our MESSIAH – the LAMB of God the Father without any sin as depicted in the Gospels of Mathew, Mark, Luke & John and practically implemented and explained by the FIRST BELIEVERS in the rest of the New Testament in Scriptures like Matthew 26:17-30, Mark 14:1 & 12, Luke 22;1, Acts 20:6, Galatians 5:9,  and 1 Corinthians 5:8

HOW DO WE TAKE THIS STEP?

Again, it requires TWO ACTIONS from a person:

ACTION 1: To be BAPTISED in a big enough body of water to be immersed FULLY as if being buried in the WATER. Preferably you should be assisted by a fellow born-again believer who has already been baptized and are walking on the NARROW WAY, who will then also serve as a witness and to support you further on your way. If you are fortunate to have a Messianic Congregation, understanding and practicing the TRUE WORD of GOD then please join them. But should such a person or congregation not be available, don’t let that stop you from going through this process on your own with the Holy Spirit teaching and guiding you. Any water is sufficient, even a bath full of water – it is NOT about the water, it is about the DECISION to DIE to your OLD SINFUL LIFE as if being BURRIED with YESHUA the MESSIAH who DIED in order for us to BE FREED from SIN and the fear of the first physical death and the spiritual second death to follow after the GREAT WHITE THRONE JUDGEMENT (read Revelation 20:11-15 and 21:8).

Do you REMEMBER at Mount Sinai the people had to WASH their clothing AND be prepared for THREE DAYS to meet with God who handed them the TEN COMMANDMENTS as SUMMARY of the TORAH? Read Exodus 19:10-11. This is similar to the THREE DAYS we spend (symbolically) with Yeshua in the GRAVE after His crucifixion being baptized in water into His death as a symbol of being WASHED CLEAN BEFORE we MEET with HIM in the HOLY PLACE to be TAUGHT HIS TORAH (His WORD)!

And then spending a LIFETIME in FOLLOWING HIM and being taught by Him day-by-day for the REST of our LIVES in order for us to know His ways and to implement it. And this brings us to:

ACTIONS 2: DAILY REPENTANCE

BY CHOOSING to DAILY repent of the sins we commit accidentally. This step is CLOSLELY LINKED to STEP 3 where we are TAUGHT THE WORD and DAILY WASHED with the WATER of the WORD (Ephesians 5:26).

So, AFTER WATER BAPTISM, equaling a DECISION to DIE to the flesh/ old sinful nature we are ready to ENTER HIS proverbial KINGDOM in the HOLY PLACE of the TABERNACLE and:

SPEND TIME at the TABLE of YESHUA our MESSIAH EVERY DAY, EATING the BREAD of LIFE (reading and meditating on the WORD – eating it with our eyes, until it becomes part of EVERY FIBRE of our BEING and we follow it with ease and joy and become more and more set apart for Abba Father).

This is STEP 3: Being raised up with Yeshua our Messiah and entering His presence in the HOLY PLACE (there where you meet Him each day being taught His Word by the Master Himself!)

The representation (picture, symbol, depiction) of STEP 3 of the SALVATION and SANCTIFICATION process in the TABERNACLE comprises of: Entering the Holy Place and sitting at the golden TABLE of SHOWBREAD and eating the BREAD of LIFE (a picture of the LIVING WORD of God) to get ready to RECEIVE the POWERFUL HOLY SPIRIT of GOD the Father who RASIED Yeshua our Messiah from the dead!

The representation (picture, symbol, depiction) of STEP 3 of the SALVATION and SANCTIFICATION process in terms of the SEVEN FEASTS of YHVH is:

The THIRD FEAST of YHVH namely: FIRST FRUITS. The instructions for this FEAST have been given in Leviticus 23:10-14 and had been fulfilled by the RESURRECTION of YESHUA our MESSIAH – the BREAD of LIFE as explained in the Gospels of Mathew, Mark, Luke & John.  Yeshua Himself explained this in John 2:19. Also read 1 Corinhains15.

Note: The FIRST THREE STEPS are part of ONE PROCESS, also known as FEAST SEASON ONE of YHVH and can happen for each person in a special way and not necessarily in the same sequence but rather as God leads you with His Spirit and according to His time. It is however necessary to understand the THREE DISTINCTIVE STEPS to make sure we are on THE NARROW WAY with Yeshua our Messiah and we STAY on the NARROW WAY. It also helps us to help other people FIND the NARROW WAY and to KNOW HOW to WALK on it. This forms part of SPREADING the GOOD NEWS to other people in a PRACTICAL and CLEAR WAY.

WHAT ARE WE TAUGHT BY HIM:

• Understanding the WORD of TRUTH (including the Old and the New Testament and being able to correctly (properly, appropriately) handle the WORD as Paul told Timothy in 2 Timothy 2:15).
• Understanding your REDEMPTIVE GIFT received from Abba Father at conception (as explained by Paul in Romans 12:6-8 – being PROPHECY, SERVING, TEACHER, COUNSELOR (to comfort and exhort), GIVING, LEADERSHIP and MERCY) and PURPOSE as well as those of the REST of the BODY of YESHUA with whom we are in daily contact with (including our family members, friends and colleagues and members of the congregation we are part of). Also read Jeremiah 1:5 and James 1:17.
• Being taught and trained in discovering and developing our REDEMPTIVE GIFTS – building on the strengths and weeding out the weaknesses
• Receiving our OFFICE GIFTS from Yeshua the Messiah, namely EMISSARIES (APOSTLES/ DISCIPLES), PROPHETS, PROCLAIMERS of the GOOD NEWS (EVANGELISTS), SHEPHERDS (PASTORS) and TEACHERS (Ephesians 4:10-16) for the PURPOSE of being part of the HARVESTING process – spreading the GOOD NEWS of Abba as part of the BODY of YESHUA to assist with Aba Father’s wish that no one should perish but that everyone will TURN from their SINS and LIVE (2 Peter 3:9, Romans 2:4, 1 Timothy 2:4).

Abba Father then instructed to count SEVEN WEEKS, 50 DAYS to the FEAST of WEEKS (also called PENTECOST and Shavuot in Hebrew), the outpouring of the HOLY SPIRIT.

So, this gives us an idea of a TIME PERIOD that we need to SPEND at the TABLE, being taught the WORD BEFORE YESHUA CAN ACTUALLY BAPTISE us with the HOLY SPIRIT and WITH FIRE!

So, this brings us to:

BAPTISM WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT

Yeshua told Nicodemus in John 3:5 BELIEVERS have to be BORN AGAIN in Him from WATER and (the capital letter) SPIRIT (the HOLY SPIRIT).

We also read in Ezekiel 36:24-27 “For I will take you from among the NATIONS, GATHER you form ALL the countries, and RETURN you to your own soil. Then I will sprinkle CLEAN WATER on you, and you WILL BE CLEAN; I will CLENASE you from all your uncleanness and from your idols. I WILL GIVE YOU A NEW HEART and put a NEW spirit inside of you (make you a NEW PERSON); I will take the STONY HEART out of your FLESH and GIVE YOU A HEART OF FLESH (a soft heart willing to obey and follow Him) I WILL PUT MY (capital letter) SPIRIT INSIDE you and CAUSE you to LIVE by MY LAWS, RESPECTING MY RULINGS and OBEY THEM.”

So BEFORE we can be filled with the HOLY SPIRIT of GOD, we FIRST need to RECEIVE a NEW HEART. A NEW HEART IMPLIES a NEW MIND because what WE THINK determines EVERYTHING we FEEL and what we will eventually DO (read Proverbs 4:23). And that is what Paul meant when he said we need to be TRANSFORMED by RENEWING our minds! (Romans 12:1-2). When we live on the BROAD WAY of the WORLD, giving our SINFUL OLD NATURE free reign, our MINDS are programmed by the WORLD on a DAILY basis by EATING what he WORLD FEEDS us through its sources like worldly books, magazines, newspapers, games, movies, social media, You Tube, TikTok and general TV. And you will remember from our study on the TEMPTATION of Yeshua the Messiah in Matthew 4:8-9 that the devil (also called the ancient serpent, the dragon and Satan) IS the ruler of the worldly system/ kingdom (please note, not the owner, God is and will always be the CREATER and OWNER of the world) but Satan usurped rulership from Adam and Eve. Please refer to our message on 9 May for more information. My point is, when we hear God the father’s call (through a message or sermon or book or however He calls you personally), and we DECIDE to ANSWER HIS CALL and to enter the GATE of the TABERNACLE to WALK on the NARROW WAY back HOME to the ONE who CREATED us and calls HIM our FATHER, our MINDS has to be RENEWED for the REST of our LIVES according to HIS WORD and WAYS and this takes time – it is a day-by-day process in which HE HMSELF LEADS, TEACHES and GUIDES us through HIS HOLY SPIRIT as we read in 1 John 2:27.

THEN we become ready for being BAPTISED with the HOLY SPIRIT and with FIRE

We read in Romans 5:5 that GOD the FATHER’s LOVE is POURED into our hearts THROUGH the HOLY SPIRIT WHO has been GIVEN to us.  How awesome is that!

Paul ends in Romans 7:25 saying: “…with my MIND (thoughts), I am a SLAVE of God’s TORAH (His instructions and ways in Genesis to Deuteronomy summed up in the Ten Commandments); but with my OLD NATURE (the flesh), I am a SLAVE OF SIN’s torah.” So what Paul is saying is the OLD NATURE follows the laws of sin, the ways of the WORLD, the BROAD WAY (read Matthew 7:13-20).

In Romans 8:1-2 Paul explains it brilliantly saying: “Therefore, there is NO LONGER any CONDEMNATION awaiting those who are in UNION with the MESSIAH YESHUA. Why? Because the TORAH (Law/ teachings) of the (capital letter) SPIRIT, which produces THIS LIFE in UNION with MESSIAH YESHUA, has SET me FREE form the (small letter) ‘torah’ (the law/ teachings) of SIN and DEATH.”

The Jewish Study Bible explains: the TORAH of the (capital letter) SPIRIT (the Holy Spirit) is the MOSAIC TORAH (Genesis to Deuteronomy written through the instruction of God to Moses), activated (triggered, motivated) by the POWER of the Holy Spirit in BELIEVERS (read Ezekiel 36:25-27 and Romans 8:4). The second (small letter) ‘torah’ is the RULE of the OLD NATURE over us (read Romans 7:21-25)

And we further read Romans 8:3-16 “For what the TORAH (Genesis to Deuteronomy summed up in the Ten Commandments) could not do by ITSELF, because it lacked the POWER to make the OLD NATURE cooperate, God did by sending His own Son as a human being with a nature like our own sinful one (but without sin). God did this in order to DEAL with SIN, and in so doing He executed the punishment AGAINST SIN in HUMAN NATURE, so that the JUST requirement of the TORAH might be fulfilled in us who do not run our lives according to what our OLD NATURE wants but ACCORDING TO WHAT THE SPIRIT (the Holy Spirit) WANTS. For those who IDENTIFY with their OLD NATURE, set their MINDS (their thoughts) on the things of the OLD NATURE BUT those who IDENTIY with the (capital letter) SPIRIT set their MINDS (thoughts) on the things of the (capital letter) SPIRIT. Having one’s MIND (thoughts) CONTROLLED by the OLD NATURE is DEATH, but having one’s MIND (thoughts) CONTROLLED by the (capital letter) SPIRIT is LIFE and SHALOM (peace). For the MIND (thoughts) CONTROLLED by the OLD NATURE is HOSTILE to GOD, because it does not submit itself to God’s TORAH (Genesis to Deuteronomy, summed up in the Ten Commandments) – indeed it cannot. Thus, those who IDENTIFY with their OLD NATURE cannot please God. But you (believers), you do not identify with your OLD NATURE but with THE (capital letter) SPIRIT – provided the SPIRIT of GOD is LIVING INSIDE you (is a born again believer), for anyone who doesn’t have the (capital letter) SPIRIT of the MESSIAH doesn’t belong to Him.  However, if the MESSIAH is IN you, then, on the other hand, the BODY is DEAD because of SIN (meaning our earthly bodies will still die the first death due to sin); but, on the other hand, the (capital letter) SPIRIT is GIVING LIFE because GOD considers you righteous. And if the (capital letter) SPIRIT of the ONE who RAISED the MESSIAH YESHUA from the DEAD will also GIVE LIFE to your MORTAL BODIES  through HIS (capital letter) SPIRIT, LIVING IN you (meaning upon the return of Yeshua the Messiah, believer’s bodies will be resurrected, read 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18). So then, brothers, we don’t owe a thing to our OLD NATURE that would require us TO LIVE according to the OLD NATURE. For if you LIVE according to the OLD NATURE, you will certainly (surely, definitely, undoubtedly) DIE; but if, by the (capital letter) SPIRIT, you KEEP PUTTING TO DEATH THE PRACTICES OF THE BODY, YOU WILL LIVE. All who are LED by GOD’s SPIRIT are GOD’s sons. For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to bring you back again into fear; on the contrary, you received the (capital letter) SPIRIT, who makes us sons and by WHOSE POWER we cry out, ‘ABBA! (that is ‘Dear Father!’).” Also read Galatians 4:6-7. And we further read in Romans 8:16: “The SPIRIT Himself BEARS WITNESS with our own (human) spirit that we are CHILDREN of GOD; and if we are CHILDREN, then we are also HEIRS, HEIRS (inheritors, beneficiaries), of GOD and joint heirs of the MESSIAH – provided we are suffering with Him in order also to be glorified with Him (meaning the world will reject and despise you when you walk in God’s ways like it rejected and despised and even killed the Son of God).” Read Isaiah 53:3, Luke 17:25 and Matthew 21:42 and John 15:18-25.

In 1 Corinthians 3:16 and 6:19 Paul CONFIRMS that believers in Yeshua the Messiah are TEMPLES of God the Father and His SPIRIT (the Holy Spirit) dwells in them.

And with HIM dwelling IN us:

• We become NEW CREATIONS (2 Corinthians 5:17).
• We have access through Yeshua the Messiah in the HOLY SPIRIT to GOD the FATHER (Ephesians 2:18).
• We are taught the TRUTH of the WORD by the HOLY SPIRIT and we are SEALED by Him to the DAY of FINAL REDEMPTION during the second coming of Yeshua the Messiah (John 14:17, 14:26, 16:13, Ephesians 1:13-14, Hebrews 4:12, 1 John 2:20, 1 John 2:27).
• He helps us BELIEVE (John 6:63 and John 15:26)
• He COMFORTS us (John 16:7, Romans 8:26)
• He declares to us the things to come (Acts 1:16 and John 16:13)
• He reveals God the Father to us (1 Corinthians 2:10-16).
• We are NEVER alone (2 Corinthians 13:14)

And Yeshua our Messiah:

BAPTISE BEIEVERS WITH FIRE

This is STEP 4: Being BAPTISED by YESHUA the MESSIAH with the FIRE of the HOLY SPIRIT as we read in Matthew 3:11 and Luke 12:49.

The representation (picture, symbol, depiction) of STEP 4 of the SALVATION and SANCTIFICATION process in the TABERNACLE comprises of:  The golden MENORRAH (the seven branched LAMPSTAND) in the Holy Place that had to BURN continually – the wicks of its LAMPS had to be trimmed and it had to be kept filled with oil. A picture of Yeshua our Messiah, setting the FIRE of the HOLY SPIRIT alight in the HEARTS of BELIEVERS enabling us to execute our purpose by putting in PRACTICE our REDEMPTIVE GIFTS and SPREAD the GOOD NEWS of GOD the FATHER with the GIFTS of the HOLY SPIRIT provided to us as and when we need it – gifts like: a word of wisdom, a word of knowledge, faith, gifts of healing, working of miracles, prophecy, ability to judge between spirits, he ability to speak in different kinds of tongues (languages) and the ability to interpret these tongues. (Read 1 Corinthians 12:4-11).

Paul later explained to Timothy in 2 Timothy 1:6-7 “…I remind you to FAN INTO FLAME THE GIFT OF GOD the FATHER, which is IN YOU through the laying on of my hands, for God the Father gave us a SPIRIT not of FEAR but of POWER and LOVE and SELF-CONTROL  (a picture of the FLAMING MENORAH!)

The representation (picture, symbol, depiction) of STEP 4 of the SALVATION and SANCTIFICATION process in terms of the SEVEN FEASTS of YHVH is:

The FOURTH FEAST of YHVH namely: THE FEAST of WEEKS/ PENTECOST. The instructions for this FEAST have been given in Leviticus 23:15-21 and repeated in Numbers 28:26-31 as well as Deuteronomy 16:9-12 and has been fulfilled by the OUTPORING of the HOLY SPIRIT 50 DAYS after the resurrection of YESHUA our MESSIAH (40 days after His resurrection He ascended to heaven to be seated at the RIGHT HAND of the FATHER and believers are seated there with Him! And 10 DAYS LATER the Holy Spirit was poured out). Read Acts chapters 1 and 2 .

There are a VARIETY of GIFTS, but the SAME SPIRIT (Holy Spirit); and there are VRIETIES of SERVICE, but the same Yeshua the Messiah, and there are VARIETIES of ACTIVITIES (actions, deeds, accomplishments), but it is THE SAME GOD (YHVH the Father) WHO EMPOWERS them ALL in EVERYONE. To each is given the MANIFETATION of the SPIRIT for the COMMON GOOD (mutual good). 1 Corinthians 12:4-7.

BELIEVERS WILL BE PREPARED FOR THEIR ASIGNMENTS and TESTED just as Yeshua the Messiah was led into the Wilderness by THE HOLY SPIRIT to be TESTED by the Adversary (opponent, challenger, enemy whom we know from Revelation 12:9 is the same serpent of Genesis 9, also known as the dragon, the devil and Satan) as we read in Mathew 4:1-11, Mark 1:12-13 and Luke 4:1-13.   And therefore we need to become SKILLED like YESHUA our MESSIAH in SPIRITUAL WARFARE using the WORD of GOD, the LIVING and POWERFUL SWORD that is able to cut right through to where soul meets spirit and joints meet marrow and it is quick to judge the inner reflections ad attitudes of the HEART. Read Hebrews 4:12 Ephesians 6:17 and 2 Corinthians 10:4-6.

THE PROOF of THE INDWELLING SPIRIT within BELIEVERS walking on the NARROW WAY is the VISIBLE FRUIT of the HOLY SPIRIT that now REPLACE the FRUIT of the FLESH that we bear while walking on the BROAD ROAD of the WORLD as Paul explains in Galatians 5:91-21.

Paul indicates in Galatians 5:22-23 THE FRUIT of THE HOLY SPIRIT is LOVE (1 Corinthians 13 type of love), JOY (happiness, delight, gladness), PEACE (harmony, agreement, unity), PATIENCE (endurance, tolerance, perseverance), KINDNESS (compassion, gentleness, sympathy, kind-heartedness, thoughtfulness) GOODNESS (righteousness, moral uprightness, integrity, reliability, dignity, honesty, truthfulness, openness, honorability, worthiness, purity, caring), FAIHFULNESS (obedience, compliance, devotion, dedicated, fidelity, loyalty, trueness, authenticity, genuine, steadfastness, reliability, dependability, staunchness, trustworthiness, constancy, committed, firmness, stability, steadiness), GENTLENESS (calmness, quietness, stillness, tenderness, sensitivity, compassion, understanding, empathy. warmth) and SELF-CONTROL (self-discipline, willpower, determination, purpose, discipline, self-restraint, restraint).

The FIRE of the HOLY SPIRIT gives us the POWER to:

• Spread the Gospel (the GOOD NEWS) with POWER and without fear (Luke 4:14, 24:49, Acts 1:8, 7:55 and 1 Thessalonians 1:5)
• Through Him we BECOME the BODY of YESHUA the MESSIAH (1 Corinthians 12:13)
• We ABOUND (thrive, flourish, overflow) in HOPE by the POWER of the HOLY SPIRIT (Romans 15:13).

And lastly a WORD OF CAUTION ABOUT THE HOLY SPIRIT WHO IS THE POWER OF GOD HIMSELF:

• We must be careful not to RESIST Him and becoming people who keep on HEARING but NEVER UNDERSTAND, and keep on SEEING but never PERCIEVE, because of HEARTS that grow thick with ears that barely hear and eyes that have closed and therefore not REPENTING and not receiving HEALING (Acts 7:51 and Acts 28:25-27).
• And not to GRIEF the HOLY SPIRIT for He has stamped (marked) us as God’s PROPERTY until the DAY of FINAL REDEMPTION and therefore we have to get rid of ALL bitterness, rage, anger, violent assertiveness and slander, along with ALL spitefulness. Instead, we are called to be KIND to each other, TENDERHEARTED; and FORGIVE each other, just as in the MESSIAH God (the Father) has also FORGIVEN us (Ephesians 4:30-31); and
• Not to insult the Holy Spirit, the GIVER of God’s grace! (Hebrews 10:29).
