FEAST SEASON 1 – FEAST 1: PASSOVER 2026 – including Tabernacle imagery & Gifts

March/April 2026

THE FIRST SEASON FEASTS OF YHVH

FEAST 1: PASSOVER

Passover called Pesach in Hebrew, takes place on 14 Abib (Aviv in Hebrew) of the Biblical calendar each year.  YHVH the Father called the first month of the year Abib (Aviv), but it was later changed in some Bible translations to Nisan. The date always remains the same on YHVH’s calendar but changes each year on the Gregorian calendar, due to the calendar months differing in days per month, THEREFORE, the corresponding date this year on the Gregorian calendar, is sundown on 31 March to sundown on 1 April 2026 (you will remember a day on the Biblical calendar starts at sundown and not at midnight as we are used to).

1 Abib, this year corresponding to the evening of 18 March to the evening of 19 March 2026 is the BEGINING of the YEAR as commanded by YHVH, the Creator of heaven and earth as we read in Exodus 12:1-3 & 6 and Deuteronomy 16:1. It can therefore be interpreted as the BEGINNING of the SPIRITUAL PATH/ WAY of DELIVERANCE of EVERY BELIEVER in YHVH to be REMEMBERED and PRACTICED/ REHEARSED every year to be rescued by Him from the domain of darkness and be transferred into His Kingdom of His wonderful love and light (1 Peter 2:9 and Colossians 1:13-21).

We find the instruction of Abba Father for the Passover in:

Leviticus 23:5 “In the first month, on the fourteenth day of the month, between sundown and complete darkness, comes Pesach (Passover) for YHVH.”

THE PURPOSE OF PASOVER

Passover serves to remind us:

  • Abba Father hears our cries in this fallen world, just like He heard the cries of the Israelites while suffering in slavery in Egypt, and He calls us to come out of the worldly system.
  • Yeshua our Messiah already overcame the evil one, (Satan and his evil forces) at the cross on Golgotha BUT we need to CHOOSE to leave “Egypt” (the worldly system) with its pagan religion and its small letter gods still keeping us in bondage through tradition and physical and emotional enslavement.
  • He destroyed the works of Satan and the sin in men’s hearts. As the COMMANDER of GOD, the FATHER’s ARMY and the horn of SALVATION, YESHUA the MESSIAH defeated the enemy of our soul – “Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it” Colossians 2:15 and “I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and Death.” Revelation 1:18.

BIBLICAL HISTORY AND MEANING

The Passover was God’s first encounter with His covenant people (read Exodus 12:1-14 and Exodus 43-48). He had chosen Moses to lead the Hebrews out of bondage, and He sent ten terrible plaques against Egypt to convince the Pharaoh to let His people go. With the tenth plaque, the death of the first-born, God gave specific instructions to the Hebrews on how to be SAVED FROM this DEATH. We read in Exodus 12:12 “For I will go through the land of Egypt on that night and strike down every first born, both men and animals, and I will execute judgements against all the gods of Egypt.

Every man had to select a year-old male lamb without spot or blemish for his household on the 10th of Abib. Then he had to observe the lamb for five days to make sure there was nothing wrong with him. On the evening of the 14th Abib the lamb had to be killed on the doorstep of the house and the blood had to be caught in a basin and sprinkled on both sides of the doorpost and on the lintel to COVER the entire entrance into the house by the BLOOD OF THE LAMB. They had to roast the whole lamb (without breaking any bone) on a spit over a fire, and eat it along with bitter herbs and bread made without yeast. No meat could be left over for the next day. They had to eat in haste, fully dressed with their sandals on and their staffs in their hands. The same night God passed through Egypt and struck down every first born of both people and animals and executed judgment on all the gods of Egypt. The Hebrew’s houses were COVERED BY THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB and their first born were SAVED FROM DEATH, BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH IN THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB. The BLOOD OF THE LAMB was their COVERING and PROTECTION. They therefore entered into a BLOOD COVENANT WITH GOD. This is YHVH’s Passover and it is a lasting ordinance to be celebrated by all generations as a festival to YHVH (Exodus 12:11 & 14).

THE PASSOVER, WAS FULFILLED WITH THE FIRST COMING OF YESHUA THE MESSIAH

For 1500 years the people of Israel celebrated the FEAST OF PASSOVER by killing a lamb and offering it as a sacrifice to God. But the blood of an animal could only COVER their sins, not take it away. God sent prophets to explain to the people that, one day in the future, a human lamb would come who would deal with the problem of SIN and DEATH once and for all. The prophet Isaiah spoke of the suffering this human lamb would experience in Isaiah 53. God crossed over time and space and became one of us in the person of Yeshua of Nazareth to be sacrificed as the human Lamb who gave His life for the sins of the world. The last prophet, John the Baptist was the forerunner of Yeshua that introduced Him as “ the Lamb of God.” (John 1:36).

Yeshua therefore fulfilled the Feast of Passover in His crucifixion, the purpose for which He was born (Acts 2:22-23). This is the reason why Yeshua deliberately arranged His itinerary and personal activities around the events associated with the SELECTION, TESTING and DEATH of Himself, the Passover Lamb of God. Yeshua entered Jerusalem on the 10th day of Abib to be set aside as the human Lamb (John 12:12-13). He was observed for five days from 10-14 Abib to ensure that He was without spot or blemish, as the Lamb of God (Matt 21:23-27). They asked Him trick questions as a part of pointing accusing fingers at Him to try to discredit Him as the perfect sacrifice but Yeshua responded perfectly to them. They could not find anything wrong with Him. In desperation they took Yeshua to Pilate but after interrogating and beating Yeshua, Pilate declared: “I find no fault in Him.” On the day of 14 Abib in the morning at 9:00 Yeshua was crucified, at 12:00 darkness fell on the earth and at 15:00 Yeshua our Messiah died (Mark 15:25,33-38) for our sins (John 3:16).

PERSONAL SIGNIFICANCE FOR US/ APPLICATION

All of us have sinned and the judgement for sin is death (Romans 3:23 & 6:23). The great hold Satan has on humanity is the fear of death (Hebrews 2:14-15). Our sin separates us from God. Even though we deserve death, God has made a way for us to be saved through the blood of Yeshua, which cleanses us from all sin (1 John 1:7). When we apply His blood to the doorposts of our heart, death cannot hold us. We therefore no longer need to fear death because the resurrection of Yeshua has taken away its sting (1 Corinthians 15:51-57). We no longer have to be afraid of God and run from Him because He accepts Yeshua’ death in our place. We are reconciled to God when we acknowledge Yeshua as the One who died on our behalf (Rom 8:1). The result of our coming to Yeshua as our Passover sacrifice is PEACE with God, the Father (Rom 5:1, 8 & 9). God then enters our lives as our PROTECTOR and PROVIDER.

And we have crossed over through the VICTORY of YESHUA our MESSIAH from:

  • Natural people to covenant people
  • Darkness to light
  • Sin to righteousness
  • Bondage to liberty
  • Defeat to victory
  • Fear to faith
  • Sickness to health
  • Poverty to plenty (more than enough)
  • Death to life

Accepting Yeshua as our Messiah, Master and Saviour is the first major encounter we have with God and how we find PEACE with God, the Father. The Feast of Passover is therefore s picture of the Prince of Peace, the Lord Yeshua.

The FIRST of the SEVEN STEPS to know God and to walk with Him is to ACCEPT Yeshua as our personal Messiah, Master and Saviour and thereby experiencing SPIRITUAL NEW BIRTH. Our HEART’s are then circumcised as proof that we are in covenant with God (Rom 2:29). The Holy Spirit come and live IN us, CHANGING OUR HEARTS and making us a NEW CREATION in SPIRITUAL UNION with YESHUA. (Philippians 3:3, Romans 2:28-29 and 2 Corinthians 5:17).

 THE PROPHETIC ASPECT

YHVH told His people to keep HIS FEASTS in their SEASONS (Leviticus 23:4). He also has PROPHETIC SEASONS – periods of time in world history when God moves to establish and restore the spiritual meaning of these FEASTS in the lives of His covenant people. In AD 312 the Roman Emperor Constantine DECREED Christianity to be the OFFICIAL RELIGION of the ROMAN EMPIRE. Christianity however CANNOT be decreed, since it is a matter of the heart. The people had to OUTWARDLY OBEY though INWARDLY most NEVER actually accepted Yeshua personally and therefore never experienced new birth. Rome embraced Christianity, but the Romans themselves did NOT become TRUE BELIEVERS. To survive, they joined the new religion BUT they never had a change on the inside. The result was that many UNBIBLICAL practices were taught by the institutional Church during the next 1,200 years. They did not clearly teach that SALVATION came about through a PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP with GOD the FATHER through YESHUA the MESSIAH and a SPIRITUAL NEW BIRTH into the Kingdom of God. In the 1500’s God raised up a man named Martin Luther to RESTORE the meaning of the Feast of Passover to the Christian world. In 1515 Luther studied Paul’s letter to the Romans and he realized that salvation was not based on religious acts or outward works, but it was a free gift from God, available through faith in Yeshua the Messiah (Rom 1:17). Luther became a CHANGED MAN. He put his personal faith in Yeshua the Messiah as his PASSOVER LAMB who had died for his sins. Unfortunately, Martin Luther hated the Jews. He was a man of his times and lived in an anti-Semitic world. Yet God used him to restore the spiritual reality of the Feast of Passover as it was fulfilled in Yeshua the Messiah.

THE TABERNACLE PICTURE

The pictures/ imagery of the TABERNACLE and its FURNITURE in the TORAH (Genesis tot Deuteronomy) improve our understanding and help us in taking practical steps in our journey to YHVH the Father through Yeshua our Messiah who is THE WAY, THE TRUTH and THE LIFE (John 14:6).

The TABERNACLE is YHVH THE FATHER’S PLAN and BLUEPRINT for SALVATION, PORTRAYING YESHUA THE MESSIAH from the beginning to the end.

The TABERNACLE on earth was just a copy and shadow of the heavenly original (Hebrews 8:3-8).

  • The TABERNACLE is a picture of Yeshua our Messiah who is indeed IMMANUEL, “God with us” and He Himself is God the everlasting Father according to Isaiah 7:14 and 9:6, living with us. Also read John 1:14 & 2:21, Hebrews 10:19-22 and Revelation 21:3.
  • Entering the gate of the TABERNACLE was only the beginning of the journey of forgiveness and only the high priest had the privilege to enter into the presence of YHVH with fear and trembling on behalf of the people of Israel. But today we know, Yeshua our Messiah is the way (the gate) leading to ABBA FATHER. “Yeshua said, ‘I AM the WAY – and the TRUTH and the LIFE; no one comes to the FATHER except through Me.’” (John 14:6)

He says in John 10:9 “I am the gate; if someone enters through Me, he will be safe and will go in and out and find pasture.”

And in John 5:37 & 39 He says: “…the Father who sent Me has Himself testified on My behalf…You keep examining the Tanakh (the Old Testament) because you think that in it you have eternal life. Those very Scriptures bear witness to Me, but you won’t come to Me in order to have life!”

  • Yeshua the Messiah is the GATE standing between the things of YHVH the Father in the OUTER COURT and the WORLD – His desire is to LET us IN not to hold us out. He is the GATE, THE WAY to ABBA Father.
  • And just as in the picture of the TABERNACLE, entering the gate is the VERY IMPORTANT BEGINNING of our JOURNEY in our RELATIONSHIP with ABBA Father.

AFTER ENTERING THE GATE (through YESHUA OUR MESSIAH) WE HAVE TO FOLLOW SEVEN STEPS AS PART OF EVERY BELIEVER’S SALVATION AND SANCTIFICATION PROCESS

This is the BEGINING of the SALVATION AND SANCTIFICATION PROCESS of a believer:

STEP 1: To make PEACE with YHVH the Father through the sacrifice of our Messiah Yeshua.

PICTURES to help us understand the meaning and implementation are:

  • Feast 1: Passover/ Pesach
  • Tabernacle Furniture: The Bronze Altar in the Outer Court, a picture of the Cross
  • Redemptive Gift: The Prophet

We are preparing to leave “Egypt”, (the way the world does things), and to enter the desert with Abba Father to learn HIS WAYS on our way to FREEDOM in the PROMISED LAND. Living in the PEACE of Yeshua our Messiah while we are still in the world and being on our way to our destiny of EVERLASTING LIFE with Abba Father and Yeshua our Messiah.

We CHOOSE to move away from the worldly system into a COMMUNITY of BELIEVERS and FOLLOWERS of Yeshua the Messiah, the Lamb of YHVH the Father who died for our sins so that we may have LIFE in ABUNDANCE.  And together we go on a JOURNEY from darkness to His marvelous LIGHT to become CHLDREN of YHVH and live in HIS LIGHT (John 10:10b, Ephesians 5:8-9, 1 Thessalonians 5:5-11 and 1 John 1:1-10).

TABERNACLE FURNITURE: THE BRONZE ALTAR, A PICTURE OF THE CROSS

Sin cannot be covered, it has to be atoned for with blood. The BRAZEN ALTAR was the place where sin was judged, and the penalty PAID by a substitutea guiltless lamb/ animal dying in the place of the sinner. The altar, as the PLACE of ATONEMENT, reminded worshipers of their sin and NEED of CLEANSING from sin’s shame, fear and guilt. The BRAZEN ALTAR is therefore a picture/ a shadow of THE CROSS OF YESHUA OUR MESSIAH that would come to die for us and wash us clean with His blood once and for all, unlike the animal sacrifices that had to be repeated over and over again. THE BRAZEN ALTAR/ THE CROSS IS THEREFORE ALL ABOUT JUSTIFICATION (the gracious and judicial act of YHVH, granting complete absolution to a person from all shame, fear and guilt and a full release from the penalty of sin).

CROSS OF YESHUA OUR MESSIAH is THE PLACE OF FORGIVENESS OF PAST SINS, SICKNESS and DEATH (spiritual death/ blindness and the second death):

  • This enables us DEALING with it, by ACKNOWLEDGING (admitting and confessing) all our SIN along with its feelings of fear, guilt and shame (like dirty, rotten, rags that we have been clothed with) and LAYING IT DOWN at the feet OF THE CROSS of YESHUA our MESSIAH, with the intention of NEVER PICKING IT UP AGAIN that we can live in FREEDOM of the shackles/ enslavement of SIN, SICKNESS and the SPIRITUAL and EVERLASTING DEATH (the second death, read Revelation 20:11-15).
  • And we receive the FREE GIFT of ABBA FATHER, through YESHUA our MESSIAH of RIGHTEOUSNESS (like being clothed with a white robe), and in so doing we complete the FIRST STEP in MAKING PEACE with ABBA FATHER (Ephesians 2:8-9).

REDEMPTIVE GIFT: The Prophet

The Prophet understands the future through the use of Biblical principles and reveals the truth of Abba’s Word with faith, hope and belief. The Prophet gift was designed by Abba Father to CALL and ENCOURAGE people to enter the GATE OF THE TABENACLE (YESHUA THE MESSIAH) and FIRST STOP at the BRAZEN ALTAR (THE CROSS OF YESHUA OUR MESSIAH) to:

  • Became aware of the evilness and the dangers of sin;
  • Recognize their need for Yeshua as their Saviour;
  • Repent of their sins with a broken and sincere heart;
  • Lay it down at the feet of Yeshua our Messiah with NO intention to pick it up again, and;
  • Then be washed by the blood of Yeshua our Messiah and being freed from their shame, fear, guilt and the death penalty of sin, and receiving the righteousness of Yeshua our Messiah – being JUSTIFIED (made right with Abba Father) and;
  • And then being able to move forward to the bronze laver (STEP 2 and FEAST 2 of YHVH) where they are willing to look into the mirror to wash away daily unintentional sins soiling their hands and their feet and be washed by daily repentance the soap and WATER of THE WORD of YHVH.

The Prophet has a very high standard of holiness for himself and others. Prophets knows that REPENTANCE is the first step to know the heart of God the Father. The Prophet’s purpose is therefore to bring people OUT OF BONDAGE through REPENTANCE, because repentance brings FORGIVENESS.

The importance and power of REPENTANCE are highlighted in the Word:

  • Ezekiel 18:32 “I take no pleasure in the death of anyone who dies’, says YHVH, ‘so turn yourselves around (teshuvah/ repent) and live!”
  • Job 42:5-6 “I had heard about You with my ears, but now my eyes see You; therefore, I detest (myself) and repent in dust and ashes.”
  • Proverbs 28:13 “He who conceals his sins will not succeed; he who confesses and abandons them will gain mercy.”
  • Matthew 3:2 & 8 “Turn (teshuvah/ repent) from your sins to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near!” If you have really turned from your sins to God, produce fruit that will prove it!”
  •  Matthew 4:17 “From that time on, Yeshua began proclaiming: ‘Turn (teshuvah/ repent) from your sins to God, for the Kingdom of Heaven is near!’”
  • Mark 1:14b-15 “…Yeshua came into Galilee proclaiming the GOOD NEWS from God (the Father) ‘The time has come, God’s Kingdom is near! Turn (teshuvah/ repent) from your sins and believe the Good News!”
  • Mark 6:12 “So they (the disciples) set out and preached that people should turn (teshuvah/ repent) from their sin to God,…”
  • Luke 5:32 “I (Yeshua) have not come to call the ‘righteous’, but rather to call sinners to turn (teshuvah/ repent) to God from their sin.”
  • Luke 13:3 “…I (Yeshua) tell you…unless you turn (teshuvah/ repent) to God from your sins, you will all die as they did!”
  • Luke 17:3 “Watch yourselves! If your brother sins, rebuke him; and if he repents, FORGIVE him.”
  • Luke 24:47 “…in His (Yeshua’s) Name REPENTANCE leading to FORGIVENESS of sins is to be proclaimed to people from ALL NATIONS, starting with Jerusalem.”
  • Acts 2:38 “Peter answered them: ‘Turn (teshuvah/ repent) from sin, return to God, and each be immersed (baptized) on the authority of Yeshua the Messiah into FORGIVENESS of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Ruach HaKodesh (the Holy Spirit)!”
  • Acts 3:18-19 “But this is how God fulfilled what He had announced in advance, when He spoke through all the prophets, namely, that His Messiah was to die. Therefore, repent and turn (teshuvah/ repent) to God, so that your sins may be erased…” (Also read: Acts 11:18, Acts 17:30 and Acts 26:20).
  • Romans 2:4 “…perhaps you despise the riches of His kindness, forbearance and patience; because you don’t realize that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to turn (teshuvah/ repent) from your sins.”
  • 1 John 1:9 “If we acknowledge (admit, confess) our sins, then, since He is trustworthy and just, He will forgive them and purify us from all wrongdoing.”
  • 2 Peter 3:9 “Master (Yeshua) is not slow in keeping His promise, as some people think of slowness; on the contrary, He is patient with you; for it is not His purpose that anyone should be destroyed, but that everyone should turn (teshuvah/ repent) from his sins.”
  • Revelation 2:5 Yeshua saying to the Messianic Community of Ephesus: “Therefore, remember where you were before you fell, turn (teshuvah/ repent) from your sin, and do what you used to do before.” (Also read His words to Sardis in Revelation 3:3). And in Revelation 3:19 He says to Laodicea: “as for Me, I rebuke and discipline everyone I love; so, exert yourselves and turn (teshuvah/ repent) from your sins!”

PREPARATION FOR PASSOVER

Believers CLEAN their temples (heart, mind & body) of sin through allowing the Holy Spirit to convict us of our sins and REPENTING before taking part in Passover (read 1 Corinthians 11:23-29 and 1 Corinthians 3:16).

Also consider reading:

  • Many went up from the country to Jerusalem for their ceremonial cleansing before the Passover and they kept looking for Yeshua (John 11:55-56).
  • Yeshua cleanses the Temple (Matthew 21:12-17, Mark 11:15-26, Luke 19:45-48 and John 2:13-25).

SO, IN SUMMARY

PASSOVER (Pesach):

Takes place on 14 Abib, that is this year sundown on 31 March to sundown on 1 April 2026.

On the evening of 14 Abib (sundown 31 March) we remember the PASSOVER by taking Communion – We eat the Passover Seder meal, with the knowledge as provided and instituted by our Messiah Yeshua in the Last Supper with His disciples.

Consider reading the following Scriptures:

  • THE LAST SUPPER (Matthew 26:17-30, Mark 14:12-26 and Luke 22:8-38).
  • Yeshua in Gethsemane on the Mount of Olives (Matthew 26:36-46, Mark 14:32-42 and Luke 22:39-46).
  • Yeshua arrested (Matthew 26:47-56, Luke 22:47-53 and John 18:1-14).
  • Yeshua before the Sanhedrin (Matthew 26:57-68, Mark 14:53-65 and John 18:19-24).
  • Peter disowns/ denies Yeshua (Matthew 26:69-75, Mark 14:66-72, Luke 22:54-62 and John 18:15-27).
  • Paul gives guidelines for eating the Passover meal (1 Corinthians 11:23-33).
  • For God (YHVH) the Father so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16).
  • For it is by GRACE that we have been SAVED, through FAITH, as a GIFT from YHVH the FATHER and not by works (Ephesians 2:8-9).
  • YHVH our God and Saviour, wants ALL PEOPLE TO BE SAVED and to come to the KNOWLEDGE of the TRUTH of Yeshua our Messiah who gave Himself as ransom for all people (1 Timothy 2:4-5).

On the day of 14 Abib (1 April) we remember:

What our Messiah was willing to do for us to save us from sin, sickness and the second death (Revelation 20:11-15) and we renew our decision to crucify our flesh (the old sinful self) willingly with Him.

Consider reading the following Scriptures:

  • Judas hangs himself (Matthew 27:1-10).
  • Yeshua before Pilate early on the morning of 14 Abib (Matthew 27:11-26, Mark 15:1-15, Luke 22:66-71 & 23:1-24 and John 18:28-40).
  • Yeshua sentenced to be crucified (John 19:1-15).
  • The soldiers mock Yeshua (Matthew 27:27-31, Mark 15:16-20 and Luke 22:63-65).
  • The crucifixion of Yeshua (Matthew 27:32-44, Mark 15:21-32, Luke 23:26-43 and John 19:1-27).
  • Yeshua the Messiah crucified 9:00 on 14 Abib (Mark 15:25).
  • Darkness over the earth from 12:00 (noon) to 15:00 (Matthew 27:45 and Mark 15:33-37).
  • The death of Yeshua (Matthew 27:45-56, Mark 15:33-42 and Luke 23:44-49).
  • The curtain/ veil that separated the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place in the temple was torn in two from top to bottom – opening the WAY through YESHUA our MESSIAH to ABBA FATHER (Matthew 27:50-51, Mark 15:38, Luke 23:45, John 14:6, Hebrews 10:19-22 and 2 Corinthians 3:14-16).
  • The burial of Yeshua (Matthew 27:57-61, Mark 15:42-47, Luke 23:50-56 and John 19:38-42).
  • Yeshua taken down from the cross before sundown and laid down in the grave (Mark15:42, John 19:31-37, Deuteronomy 21:23 and Galatians 3:13).
